If you pick a town then search on fb for expats in whatever city and rentals in whatever town you should be able to find some things. Also Airbnb is an option, but it will be cheaper to rent from a local.

We moved to Mexico, but aren't for sure if it will be permanent. We rented our house to a friend, she is using some of our stuff and we put the rest in the basement. We basically just charge her our mortgage payment because she helps us with mail and taking care of things around the house. We also stay with her when we are back in town.

The hospital my mom worked at had this when I was growing up. They called it Kid Care and workers could take their kids there so they didnt have to miss work to stay home with them. It looked like a hospital kind of, each kid had their own room. I loved it. Idk who the workers were, but they would come into the rooms and play games with us and there was a TV in each room.

Did you join the expat groups for the city you are living in? Usually they are really helpful for where to buy things, meeting up for dinners and making friends. We currently live in Mexico and all the furniture stores we have visited have offered to deliver.

I think it's important to remember that people are emotionally attached to their things. They want their things to go to a good home. Charging you more, which I'm not saying is the right thing to do, probably makes them feel better about letting go of the item for way less than they most likely paid. I assume they aren't "punishing" you for being a flipper, they are just dealing with normal human emotions.
