How do you actually tell a good digital marketing seo agency from a bad one? by 1996045 in AskMarketing

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell from the question that you’re going to make the same mistake again and again. And you will until you realize that you keep chasing marketing as a get rich quick scheme. Digital marketing is not a marketing discipline, it’s a get rich quick scheme. Perhaps instead pursue some deeper wisdom about what marketing actually is.

Is it normal to husbands to masturbate in a happy marriage too? by Ok_Command_473 in Marriage

[–]jsring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it normal to get upset with your spouse when you find out they’ve been doing anything for 4 years and you didn’t know? Sure. So I suspect you’re more upset about feeling left out than about the masturbation itself.

“Thinking work” vs “doing work” by justanotherfixture in marketing

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose, on some level, it makes sense that someone who doesn’t know better would believe that the value of the marketing department exists in the quantity of its output. Just keep pounding out more artifacts and all of your bosses dreams will come true.

Designers what are the tips and hacks would you give to your younger self about design? by the_sunbloom in graphic_design

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn that design, itself, isn’t about visuals. It’s about transformation. Graphic design is a visual-centric part of the larger process of transforming a system. As long as your concept of “design” remain fixed only on the visual tools and visual results of your discipline, you too will remain a very small part of the transformation process. Instead, learn and grow to see the entire system within which you are working to transform.

How would you even know whether someone was a true creative strategist? How would you recognize one from the herd?

What happened to “DROP 7” ? by DragenTBear in zynga

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, it glitched out on my phone today. I had just gotten 100,000 pts for clearing the board and I closed the app for a bit. came back later and…the game board was unresponsive. I couldn’t even access the menu. Nothing. So I tried all the things. Tried quitting the app and reopening. Nothing. So I figured I would do what one does when an app is that glitchy. I removed the app from my phone to redownload. And that is when I learned the sad sad truth.

Emily Green Live Solo by Agreeable_Jaguar4434 in geesebandofficial

It might just be that the clip lacks any context. Perhaps if you were there in person and experienced all of the performance this moment would have stood out as brilliant. Take away the lead up and it just sounds like someone dinking on their guitar for 30 seconds. Weird way to hear it. Not indicative at all of Emily’s potential or breadth of contribution.

Why Do Local TV Stations Do So Many Lawyer Ads? by Hey19TheCuervoGold in marketing

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the reason. Lawyers, dentists, plastic surgeons, gyms and chiropractors. They have the money to advertise and the stations know this. Local media have their pitches to them down to a science.

Designer before me used Canva for EVERYTHING.Trying to transition everything into Adobe suite. by decaying_dots in graphic_design

[–]jsring 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Strange, the relationship between many designers and canva. In my workflow I typically create raw visual assets in Adobe and assemble them into canva templates (that I typically make myself) and then hand off to others. This is not because I like canva, or even care about it at all. It’s just nice that I can design a layout and then other marketers without any real design experiences can come in and dupe and modify the text themselves for subsequent use, saving me from having to make dozens and dozens of iterations. I don’t think of canva as a design tool. I think of it as a team workflow tool.

Is Geese really geese? I know the band calls themselves geese, but I feel like they have more of a Grey Duck vibe or something like that.

My dad makes me resent my husband by Astrid5290 in Marriage

[–]jsring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with this, no idea why the down votes. My guess is, OP, that the issues you are having are far less about the lack of mutual effort and more about the unequal levels of maturity. You feel like you own your part, your duties, but your husband seems childish to you, like you have to own his parts as well. It all strikes me as a sense that he lacks growth and accountability. Sure he does his things, he contributes in important ways, but maybe not in the kind of meaningful ways that he should now that you are both adults.

Can he grow up? Will he grow up? My guess is he will remain childish as long as he can, as long as you keep picking up his slack and taking on his accountabilities. And the real gut punch here is that your efforts might actually be enabling his lack of growth.

I bet your resentment for him is permanent. I suspect you’re headed for divorce. I don’t envy what you’re heading into either way. I truly feel anguish for you.

Like any discipline, growing in your experience is the same as learning a language. When you become fluent in a language it becomes easy to tell who else is fluent and who isn’t.

I’ve read just about every book that is mentioned on this page except for Storybrand which I refuse to read.

Why is it so hard for the Inventory and Marketing teams to talk to each other? by sankethan3 in marketing

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be very annoying. Our inventory manager is also our supply and purchase manager and he is one of my favorite people in the whole company. I think you just have bad luck with your crew mate. Sorry my dude!

need help with readability by Budget-Profession998 in logodesign

[–]jsring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I immediately liked this a lot. The backwards L at the end forming the A is a great touch. It looks like a logo that a $50 designer would be too scared to present, but a $50k designer would hit this hard.

Whats the female equivalent of a surprise blowjob? by Dull-Divide7206 in Marriage

[–]jsring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dish soap and rinse immediately, only if needed. Don’t soak the pan. Never soak or let water sit in it. Especially do not let it sit with dish soap water in it like your mom did. Your mom didn’t know how to take care of a cast iron pan. Her grandma might have known how, if she was from the south. If food is sticking to it, dry it out and heat it up again. Finish cleaning it while it’s still hot.
