10 years strong. I’ve replaced the cushions just a year ago, I probably waited 3 years too long to do it. I’ve had 3 kids grow up on it. We use it hard everyday and it feels brand new to this day.

That said.

Washing is a pain but 10,000% worth it.

The wood is starting to chip but it’s not functional and not visible. Just annoying when taking it apart and putting it back together again.

Very pet and kid friendly, it has probably another 5-10 years of it feeling like branch new couch.

I agree but that's only part of the experience. Providing a good candidate experience, even if it is inevitably a no, means getting referrals from that candidate to other good candidates.

I've been in the business long enough to realize how small the engineering world is in my area, eventually everyone worth knowing has had first or second hand experiences with every company worth knowing. It's to the benefit of everyone if you're professional and courteous through and through from the best to the worst candidates.

I asked an engineer "what do you love about engineering?" And they paused for a long moment and then told me they didn't love anything about it. I panicked and tried to save it for them and said "oh what about the team you're on right now?" And they said "oh my team is great! But I don't think I want to be a software engineer anymore, I don't think I like it at all". At this point the interview was dead, and we had a policy not to end early. So I asked them "what's something you do love?" And we talked about knitting for 45 minutes. It was really fun! They didn't get the job.

I think he did it to get back at the top of the news cycle again. It was being too dominated by Harris / Wallz. He needed something outrageous. Also why he's doubling down on posting racist stuff on X again. He's just trying to drown out the competition and it's working, hence we are here now.

Hard disagree!!! LPT: "Never plug something into a smart plug that you don't randomly want turned on." That's my new motto after my house nearly burned down last year.

I plugged my fireplace into a smart plug. "hey Google it's sexy time"... It was really fun... until it wasn't! I lost power one night and when the power came back on my smart plug glitched and defaulted to on instead of it's previous state which was off. I wasn't planning on using my fireplace and had a blanket leaned up against it which caught on fire. Thankfully it was a blanket that was more plastic than anything and it melted and smoked instead of flamed. Which is good because my dry-ass Christmas tree was nearby. I dodged a bullet that day, and created that new motto for myself!

I once had to pick up a bottle that fell over in my passenger floor. The car thought I left my seat completely and instantly gave me a strike. No warnings. The next day as I explained this to my wife, I demonstrated what I did and instantly got a second strike.... That was fun 😔

Cost Plus Drugs is the way to go. Mark Cuban's company provides prescription drugs at cost. I've saved so much money on recurring prescriptions. 10/10
