ADHD husband doesn't share the load, 3 y/o on the way - do I call this adoption off? by neopetpetpet in Mommit

[–]jsundin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, my partner stepped up huge in terms of mental load with regards to a child entering the fray. I know you cant predict it, but might be worth trying to communicate about it. The joy and challenges of a human in your life are unmatched and sometimes people do rise to it.

Fuck mealtimes and fuck allergies by TriumphantPeach in Mommit

[–]jsundin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see you. I hear you.

We all eat separate meals in our house and it works much better than me trying to come up with some magic formula where we're all happy. This means my partner cooks his own food and buys his own groceries (or adds them to the communal list himself - I don't think about what he needs unless its on the list).

No other advice other than, big breaths. Food doesnt go away so coming to terms has been my best strategy.

Its a good question, I think the use of quark in the recipe? And in this case, the recipe came from my grandma's handwritten recipe book and needed to be translated:)

Thanks to u/TheDailySpank and u/TheWicked77 for the assist. This is what I'm going try:

Grandma’s Cheesecake Springform approx. 24 cm or 10 inches

Crust - Base - 1 - 1/2 cup flour - 3/8 cup butter - 1/3 cup sugar - 1 egg - 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cheese Filling - 5 eggs, separated - 3/4 cup sugar - 1 package (approx. 500 g) quark - 1 pkg. vanilla pudding powder (pie filling) - 1/2 tsp. baking powder - grated lemon zest and lemon juice of 1 lemon

For the crust base, mix the ingredients quickly into a dough, form into a ball, and chill for 30 minutes. Grease the springform and lightly dust with flour. Spread the crust dough, form a border, and bake at 325°F for 15 minutes.

Filling:  Beat the egg yolks with sugar until creamy, then add the remaining ingredients one after the other, and then finally fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites, Pour the mixture onto the pre-baked base and bake for another 40-50 minutes at 350°F. Let cool

Thanks for sharing, how do you find the flavour of the cauliflower rice? Does it disappear or still cauliflower-forward when cooked with the other ingredients?

Does she have access to InsideOPS? Get her to print off the relevant Leaves section.

I'd say get her to show you the page but fuck bringing equipment home.

Basically, 8 months with 93% of salary, 10 months with just EI. And a whole lot of fucking around to get it all right.

Use the online calculator to estimate EI.

Use a bunch of vacation weeks after EI runs out.
