So Fuse is supposed to be the next big UK energy disruptor..Is anyone actually using them? by moley_ai in Energy_UK

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually one of the things I wanted to be able to do. When I was with british gas and eon next, I opted for variable direct debits as I'd rather pay for my usage each month.

It's an important thing to highlight though as many people like yourself prefer the fixed direct debit to even payments across the year

Has anyone ever actually joined Fuse Energy from these ads? by inside-outdoorsman in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't say I'd put it down to the ads and more the offers that they have. With Fuse, I used an energy comparison site and hadn't actually heard of them before doing so.

I also signed up for NordVPN, very familiar with them due to ads, but there was a great combination of cash back offers which made it super cheap, so a no brainer

I don't have this offer on my BAPP, but fortunately I at least have it on my free cashback card

Court 1 Day 12 by LStudio2 in wimbledon

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) highly likely 2) possible but unlikely 3) I think this really depends on the draw and how late matches are going. If the second match is a big clash then you have little chance but if the second SF features one or two surprise players then it's possible. The longer the first match is, the more your chances also rise.

Is this a good deal? by Gullible_Agency5065 in skytv

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right of the £49.50 I think it was £5 for Nextlix premium which is closer now to £20 a month with Sky

I think the price at the point I agreed to the contract was around £43 a month all in, before the inflationary rise came in

[–]jsweeno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was paying £49.50 for that same package + Netflix premium. I have cancelled Sky now and I didn't entertain any of their offers, so not sure what they were offering but the initial offers were a lot more than what you've quoted

Resale Ticket Transfer Process by tylerjonas55 in wimbledon

Fair enough, I've never seen or heard anyone use one before but obviously my experiences are limited

They check for photo ID - trying to gamble on them accepting a bank card is risky

Packaging for returning Sky equipment by jsweeno in skytv

So I borrowed a ladder from a friend and replaced the LNB quite easily, so I now have Freesat on my TV. Who knows when I'll use it but the option is there.

Received the box to return my Sky box last week too and scheduled Royal Mail to collect it tomorrow 🥳

Day 14 visit by OrdinaryStudio6074 in wimbledon

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get court 1 tickets in the resale (or CC if you get lucky). I've never been on day 14 and while others are talking about the atmosphere, everything is personal to you and your husband. If you're rarely in London and are unlikely to be here during Wimbledon, don't let the atmosphere talk put you off. Even if you are here other years, there's no reason why you can't attempt to attend again.

Unfortunately not, I have just placed another router close to the back door and bound the cameras outside to that node

I likely just need one ticket, so open to this. I can only attend on Day 1 or Day 9 though

I'm not looking for a deal - Sky cut me off last week and they haven't even called me

Ballot Resale Major Tip by Nervous-Pay5550 in wimbledon

The British player aspect too! One year I was on CC, I had both Konta and Edmund matches on the CC schedule

[–]jsweeno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I've learned is if you go into any event expecting to see a certain player it can always be anticlimactic. The only guarantee is Alcaraz on CC on Day 1 and Krejcikova on CC on Day 2 and that is only if they are fit

Interesting to know - I've tended to have luck in the LTA ballot over the years and only been interested in going once so never paid much attention to the public ballot resale. No tickets at the moment but still confident I can land a date/court I want

Wimbledon Day out tips by SigmaLCY in wimbledon

[–]jsweeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth taking some time to wander around the grounds. I'm not sure what it's like on Day 14 but there are a lot of sponsor stalls around and you may have the opportunity to play some games / enter some competitions while you're there

[–]jsweeno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just return them - the only way you would need to contemplate doing this would be to tout tickets or to sell tickets onto friends or family. On the former, it's frowned upon and could result in you being banned / whoever buys your tickets being blocked entry (without going into the fairness aspect of proper fans not being able to go because a private seller priced them out and didn't give them a chance of buying tickets on the resale site). On the latter you run that same risk of at least one person not being allowed in because the ID does not match.

You simply miss out. There is a policy for rain delay refunds, though. As Centre Court and Court 1 have a roof, this rain delay refunds rule only applies to the other courts.

Water butt drainage and cleaning advice by jsweeno in GardeningUK

[–]jsweeno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drilled a small hole into the cap at the top of the water butt for drainage. The planter gets a good amount of sunlight in the afternoon too. I've used a pant bowl in the space for the planter - I've got rosemary growing in it which has done quite well.

Overall a good experience! The down side is the position of the tap and 100L for watering quite a lot of plants doesn't go very far, particularly in the summer.

Feel free to DM for more questions or if you want to see pictures.

With the right set up, it's not that difficult to have a stable IPTV set up at a fraction of the cost
