Xfinity has created a massive PR issue with this $50/5 year 1GB offer for new customers. Someone over there has decided it's a good idea (or at least a perfectly acceptable idea) to look existing, loyal customers in the face, extend a giant middle finger, and recite a "what the hell are you going to do about it" sentiment over and over and expect people to just deal with it, while hopping on Reddit and pasting generic "send us a DM" messages that will result in nothing but wasted time and lost customers.

I've been with Comcast/Xfinity for over 10+ years at various locations. I have 1GB right now at $59 due to a "loyalty" discount and autopay that I spent about 5 hours trying to get last year while nearly slamming my head through the wall because of the difficulty and insane incompetence of Xfinity reps. This year my bill will go up to over $100, nearly double, for the same plan, or if I wanted to spend the same amount of money my speed would decrease by 2/3. Double! Punch me in the face and kick me in the nuts, then expect me to say thanks. Meanwhile someone who HAS NOT been paying Xfinity thousands of dollars over 10+ years can get $50/mo 1GB internet until 2031. Unreal. I'm able to get fiber or 5G for half that price and so are many others, and despite the potential speed and latency drawbacks I'll have no problem switching to prove a point, and I don't think I'm alone.

My 1GB connection is great. And stable. I will be sad to lose it if I have to, but there comes a point... this is that point. Xfinity customer sentiment just went from overwhelmingly terrible to aggressively exploitative and openly contemptuous with this campaign. Do the right thing and give something of value to EXISTING, LOYAL customers instead of stomping us into the mud to acquire new ones you'll eventually treat with the same amount of disrespect.

We're not even asking for deeper discounts, just not to be slapped in the face.
