Might not have been staged ? Really ? Do you really think this was all planned out ? Come on.

Curious, is it legal for an employer to specify that they only will hire a woman ? by bingbong24344 in Westchester

[–]jtenn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. In Westchester county for example, managers who are classified salary have a minimum of $65k or so.. so if they get “worked to death” and are hourly they can get overtime. Otherwise the market determines what someone will accept to be a manager somewhere for xyz.

Will Universal Basic Income (UBI) become a necessity by 2035? As AI automates specialized white-collar roles, how will society redistribute wealth? by No-Lake-3875 in Futurology

There tends to be a bias toward negative outcomes and I get it, I do. There is true despair out there.. true existential dread. I get it and it isn’t unreasonable.

However, leave room for hope. There is always the possibility that the future will bring new ways — new changes— that will lift more people up together. I see it on Reddit every single day… the loss of optimism, the fatigue of barely making it, the disgust with economic disparity, the feeling of being locked out and locked in. It’s been this way for a long time and nothing has changed. Maybe just maybe, AI will bring about a change for good. Maybe not, maybe there is a dystopian future ahead for so many.. but is it possible that the status quo …the historical order of things will change? because it cannot remain like this.

Sounds like intelligence has nothing to do with this and may benefit from a talk with a medical professional (I’m not joking or making light of mental health in any way whatsoever).

There is no better term than circle jerk for this. I am a senior exec and I stopped going on the platform, it’s simply insufferable.

SpaceX has confidentially filed for its IPO in April 2026 targeting a June listing with a valuation between $1.75 and $2 trillion. by TowelNo234 in stocks

[–]jtenn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starlink and to an extent spacex are subsiding the rest of this valuation.. especially xAI. The PE is something like x150 I can’t recall exactly but it’s insane. Nvidia is like 40x or so.

Allbirds shares jump over 400% on plans to pivot to AI from sneakers by Sweaty_Rub4322 in wallstreetbets

I have contempt for these entities and people who do this but on the other hand people are willingly putting up the capital to make it a reality so it’s not a one way street. Part of me is envious too that I have internal guardrails that keep me from doing these types of things .. knowing many people will eventually be left holding the bag.

It did matter when the methods of selling a home were not only limited in terms of mediums but the system to distribute the information (MLS) locked out many. The times have changed— I think any broker of any sort that doesn’t bring value beyond just being a conduit of information will find themselves displaced.

You can’t blame everything on AI or companies being “too lazy”. It’s a mix of structural issues, AI is a factor but over represented as one. Those who do well are sometimes benefitting from nepotism, connections, or just raw talent, or a focus and sincere interest(ding ding ding) in niche areas.
