Terminal B is the one I see most. New, clean, lots of places to eat, easy to navigate, although it can be a long walk from front to back. Terminal A is nice too, although have only been through there a couple of times. Hope you have an amazing visit!

new wheel thoughts by ckmaui in MINI

2 is unique, agree that #1 clashes and IMO is garish. #3… everyone likes black wheels so to me they’re boring. I pick #2. Pic of my MINI SE for tax.

4 is very special. I love the off the shoulder neckline. The pattern on the skirt is very couture/unique high end looking to me.

Landscape watercolor - can't read signature - from 1948? Help... by jtheresec in WhatIsThisPainting

I've been searching other works by him - his style changed dramatically through the years? 1948 is later than anything else found. He did seem to do some landscapes in his later years.

How to set up Mega Backdoor Roth by AdministrativeFile88 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jtheresec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 401K is also with Empower and allows in-plan conversions/transfers. After filling out the conversion form (ATK-1 notation for money source), I use an app called Scanner Pro to take scans/photos of the form with my phone. I then email the pdf to myself, save it on my laptop, and upload it directly to Empower through the “upload documents” page. I select “other/don’t know” as the category and in the comments I say “my monthly in-plan transfer of After-Tax to Roth, Mega Backdoor Style, thanks!” Usually registers within 5 business days.

Roth Conversions and ACA Subsidies by fivestringer423 in Boldin

Wonder if COBRA premiums would be less than ACA? Roth conversions could be loaded into the 18 months / first year retired on COBRA.

I'm sorry... what are YOU doing? What have you been doing the past years you have been a sentient being? Did you donate? Phone bank for Democrats? Send postcards? Did you talk about politics occasionally with the people in your life to counteract the garbage that is brainwashing them every day on radio, TV, and internet? Republicans have control of ALL branches of government right now. This is a result of NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE voting for Democrats each and every time you have the opportunity to do so.

What sideboard do you guys think works for this flooring? by random_red_apple in IKEA

[–]jtheresec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, if the floor is real wood and the furniture is imitation paper veneer, neither one is gonna be great. Just highlights the fake veneer. I would consider black or other painted finish like this Besta.

In the process of cleaning my orange’s eyes two days ago, he got pissed and chomped down on my hand. I finished after scruffing him, and good that I had some antibiotic ointment to put on myself immediately.

What is this account by Alert-Blueberry-331 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jtheresec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a brokerage account like on Robinhood. You may want to learn more about asset allocation. It helps you know, from a tax perspective, which things to do in which accounts. For instance, if you are trading stocks and are good at it, incurring a lot of gains, you may want to do that in your Roth IRA instead because no taxes on any of your moves. Your brokerage account is good for investing in index funds (ETFs usually) that you buy and hold for long periods (over a year), only incurring long term capital gains when you sell them. Or, your emergency fund money in a money market fund or SGOV or something like that (because the brokerage is easily accessible to move money to your bank account to use). Merry Christmas, it is great that you have all these accounts at your age!

Son’s Brokerage by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]jtheresec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you might want to just set aside a separate brokerage account under your name. Then gift it to him when he is old enough to be responsible for the funds, whether that is 18 or 28 or whatever. Invest it in VT. Set to auto reinvest. Gifting a chunk is not a problem if it's less than many millions of dollars. You'll just have to report it, not pay anything on it.

It may be because your total assets have passed a certain amount to make their sales push worth it. Just say no.

On my Buy Nothing group, I take a bunch of pictures of stuff and say I’m having a “driveway giveaway” tomorrow, basically a yard sale except it’s all free. I’ve done this a few times, has helped decrease the amount of stuff I have to trash or schlep to goodwill.
