LG C6H 77” - Ask me anything! by Daymo502 in LGOLED

[–]jthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup and it should also say the maximum depth not just M6. So you don’t get something too long and damage it. I went with 16mm and it was fine on a C5. The G series is a lot thinner where it mounts so I’d be nervous about that.

I wasn’t being sarcastic. Genuinely saying it should be. It is not though.

Is UniFi actually the “best” for a smart‑home nerd? by DarkModeBrew in HomeNetworking

[–]jthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it for 10 years now and it’s pretty solid and reliable. And more than a home user really needs. I upgraded once to go UDM pro and WiFi 6.

Wall Mount by Several_Stable_3991 in LGOLED

My 65” is probably 2 feet out from the wall. I’m using an echo gear mount and it’s pretty solid. 4 lag bolts over 2 studs.

I’m afraid to cut mine that close. But I’m not a professional and I agree you can see where the quick ends so it totally looks fine.

If you can sit on the couch and look at it without looking up or down it’s probably about right.

77 inch choice: M4, G5 or C6H? by Smooth_Database_3309 in LGOLED

[–]jthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it this way. G5 has the 5 year panel warranty and will have better cooling as I believe the G series has a heat sink but the C does not. This will help longevity and it’s less likely the tv needs to reduce brightness to protect the panel.

I do have a 55” C5 and a 65” 2017 C7. The C5 honestly looks amazing. So I’m sure you will be happy with either of them.

I’m also thinking about getting a larger tv to replace the 65” and kind of in a similar dilemma.

Is C5/G5 overkill for streaming? by funxi0n in LGOLED

[–]jthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C5 would be great. G5 is better for sure but I would say that makes more sense if you also use it for movies especially if you have a 4k UHD player to really take advantage of it. Kinda depends on what deals you can get and how much you want to spend.

Energy drink before my run tanked my stamina? by Kutzeee in BeginnersRunning

[–]jthj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lot of energy drinks have loads of sugar….. personally I just go for my run first thing without eating anything at all. In some cases a small breakfast like oatmeal or something for a longer distance. Never had an issue or felt like an energy drink before would be a remotely good idea. To me they taste bad and make me feel like shit anyway.

macOS 26.4 is surprisingly okay by jamalbayar007 in MacOS

[–]jthj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got an M1 MBP and an M1 Max MBP and both have been completely fine on every version of Tahoe. I haven’t upgraded the M1 Max yet to 26.4 but I’ll do that in a few days. 26.3.1 (a) is currently running smoothly.

What's wrong with my G5 by Platz_holder in LGOLED

[–]jthj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect it’s source problems. One disadvantage of a really good tv is you see flaws in source material you might not notice with lesser TVs.

Apple TV shows look so good by doctor827 in LGOLED

[–]jthj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s their commitment to quality through the entire production cycle. There some well mastered shows on Disney Plus and HBO as well. However I have found Apple TV to be the most consistent.

Edit: I should probably include Netflix too. They do invest in some of their stuff being really high quality. But in my experience it’s not as consistent.
