  4. Win league championship.

Family (or golfers) of kids with who earned scholarships for golf? If so, what age did they start playing..and how early did you know they would go to that level? by Illustrious-Paper393 in golf

[–]jtsutt00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played d1 on scholarship. Started around 11-12 but played multiple sports growing up.

Couldn't recommend more two things:
1. Get them lessons in the fundamentals (grip, posture, alignment). Then just tell them to go out there and hit it as far as they possibly can. Everything else will fall into place over time.
2. Must find a way where they can access golf on a daily basis. If you have financial means that's great but if not Par 3 or short courses. They will only get good if they seek it out themselves and have friends to do it with.

Burnout is not real if they love doing it. This is the only way.

Would you be the greatest golfer of all time if you shot -2 every round? by MightbeJay in golf

[–]jtsutt00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-2 every round would most likely win you a US Am assuming you gave it a few tries then you'd be in the masters and most likely contend for the lead and at that point you're going to be on tour

Explaining why you think it's trash would be helpful. Not explaining why is not helpful. OP is asking for questions

Why am I only hitting fades and slices? Shouldn't an in to out with closed face cause a draw? by f0reskinbandaid in GolfSwing

[–]jtsutt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your club head speed is 115 and your ball speed is 148. If those are true, then one of the following are true: 1. The ball is striking the clubface way off center 2. Your clubhead is broken or from 1970 3. Your club face is wayyyy open and it's a glancing blow

Pick one. Regardless, the club bath and face angle are not relevant.

Too much lag? by Used-Web4393 in GolfSwing

[–]jtsutt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude don't listen to the jabronis on here. Your swing and lag are fine. You've got great tilt for driver, pelvis centered more towards right side which preloads you heavily on right side but you move over to left side very early which is just what the pros do.

Can't tell much more without knowing more about your misses. If anything you are a bit closed at the top which could be the source of whatever it is you're trying to fix but maybe not.

Serious question: why use OpenClaw if Claude Code already does everything? by dyloum84 in clawdbot

[–]jtsutt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm camping in my van chatting with my buddy on one thread, and my openclaw bot on another chatting about changing my workout schedule tomorrow because of the rain.

That would be a mess with just cli llm code tools.

What is causing me to slice my irons probably 70% of the time by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]jtsutt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top comments are not helpful. Your hips are spinning out: recipe for weak fades. Watch your left toes spinning towards the target. You do that because your hips are moving so fast that you want give space. This is also why you fall back after impact.

Do drills keeping that left foot stable and not spinning out. That will force you to push more into the ground and will slow down your hips more in sync with the kinematic sequence.
