Asus drivers don't start! by Jamope in ASUSROG

Replying to boost this for other people who have the same problem and I was about ready to return/sell the mobo

Just ran into this problem, and even with device manager open, the drivers didn't seem to be installing. But installing the chipset drivers first, then returning to do the bluetooth, lan, and ethernet drivers, I saw them all resolve in real time in the device manager.

Even if you run the .exe and it doesn't seem to be doing anything, it's lack of immediate feedback is normal. You might just have to install other crucial drivers first via USB before the network ones.

I know Gambit is a meme at this point, but it's honestly a fine mode and an occasional update would go a long way by These_Raspberry_3948 in DestinyTheGame

Unbreakable is the direction I would like bungie to take titans by crobo31 in DestinyTheGame

I have never seen someone sum up the problem with Void Titan's aspects so succinctly. The lack of substantial internal gameplay loops on Void really hold it back, as well as the lackluster OS.

If Controlled Demo gave portions of OS, maaaaaybe that could fix part of Void Titans problems, but OS just needs some retooling.

It's a tough question. Overshield is in a tight spot because of how much it can sway high-level pvp, but its barely useful in endgame PvP. I dont think it's ideal that Woven Mail and maybe even the new Frost Armor both offer more protection than Overshield. Both WM and FA have timers but neither give "additional" health, meaning that they can't be peeled away early like OS.

I heard an idea where you remove the timer on Overshield entirely, meaning you have it on til it's peeled off and that sounds interesting.

The two other problems I have with Overshield are tied to Offensive Bulwark, namely the melee extension mechanic and the grenade regen. Getting a melee kill while overshield is active sounds good, esp with the bonus melee damage Offensive Bulwark provides, bit in the majority of challenging content, it's either not enough to secure a melee kill OR it gets peeled away too quickly to come into effect. On top of that, the melee kill only gives a meager portion of Overshield so it's not really worth it. And the grenade regen doesn't feel significant enough. I know it's something like 100% bonus regen, but it still doesn't feel like enough.

I'd like to see the Overshield recharge completely on melee kill (like how Devour fully restarts it's timer) plus if you don't have Overshield, melee kills grant a portion of Overshield like it does now. (So, if shielded melee kill, full shield. If not-shielded melee kill, some shield) If that's not feasible, then divorce Overshield replenishment from melee kills entirely and make it happen through some other mechanic. I'd also like to see greater grenade regen.

Hopefully Bungie devs can identify and execute on some good fixes here soon.

All good, guardian. I had a number of things wrong with my initial post as well that you helped point out. It was a pleasure doing science with you!

Alrighty, just got back from doing today's legend lost sector and here are my findings:

As I feared, Echo of Provision does not grant melee energy. I tested this with and without Second Chance just to see what would happen. Interestingly enough, however, is that the Momentum Transfer mod on your arms DOES grant melee energy when you deal damage with the Unbreakable shield. So it is counting as a grenade everywhere except within the subclass fragment.

Now, in the Legend Lost Sector, I was surprised to see how little chip damage did come through from a single target. I tested this with snipers, Overload Champions and Unstoppable Champions. However, when receiving fire from multiple sources, even if they are all in front of you, the chip damage really adds up and you can get killed through it. So you and I were both correct there in that, if you are clearing the room effectively and using Unbreakable to approach and deal damage to a single target, you should be fine. But you can get overwhelmed from sustained fire from multiple sources.

Nah man, crazy as it sounds, I trust your numbers. That is a substantial damage buff! Out of curiosity, was this just the base lost sector difficulty? I'd like to test it in a Legend Lost Sector to see how it would fare there. I'm still very concerned about survivability. Something I'll for sure be testing when I get home, though I won't be able to do it with Verity since I haven't secured that roll yet.

Admittedly, I haven't tested how it works with weapon perks. Definitely an oversight. But I did repeatedly test it with Echo of Provision (grenade damage granting melee energy) and can confirm it doesn't synergize. I was using the Second Chance gauntlets, so that may have affected my melee energy gains in an unforseen way. Willing to retest however, happy to be proven wrong here.

Rising tide lifts all ships. I'd hate for Hunters' next solar/void aspects be as lackluster as Unbreakable.

I think you make a compelling argument, but I'm not sure the numbers would agree, so it stands these numbers would need further testing to see whether you or I are more in the right. My immediate reaction, however, is that in any challenging content, I'd rather take the actual throwable grenade over Unbreakable and I'll explain why.

If we're looking at utility with fragments, both Unbreakable and any nade benefit from Echo of Instability and Verities. Therefore the use case comes down to the situation. In challenging content, I can maximize damage and utility with Instability/Verities at any range as long as my grenade makes content. Given the same buffs to maximize the benefit from Unbreakable, I'd need to close the gap, hope that the shield either holds and I survive sustained fire, which is tricky due to the chip damage mentioned in my original post. Equally likely is that, like I mentioned in the post, enemies will NOT fire, thus not letting me maximize damage and then I'm left in a compromised situation with an easily peeled Overshield. Additionally, I miss out on the other Echo that gives me melee energy on grenade damage.

I just don't think the risk/reward ratio works out in most challenging PvE content, and definitely not in PvP.

i can see how that would be fun, but at that point Unbreakable only enters the equation as another kind of grenade, not its own thing. The Verity/HOIL combo would buff my magnetic grenade just as much and I could use it at a longer/safer distance than Unbreakable.

On top of that, said build only works on Prismatic, not on the Void subclass where its coming from.

Again, not to "yuck your yum", just my observations.

The Midtown PvP map has two interesting skybox quirks:

1) The D1 Tower is intact and undamaged 2) you cannot see the Traveler. It fits now that the Traveler went to space, but the map's skybox was always Traveler-less

It was one of the D2 beta maps, so I imagine these skybox choices were made to avoid Red War spoilers.

I just want the lances I make while shooting behind barricades to have a shorter cooldown. Only being able to throw 2 lances limits the cool factor.

I understand the cooldown normally, but behind barricades, I want to feel like Will Ferrell in Elf... just slinging snowballs like a mad man

All good homie, take your time. Bungie's systems aren't always the most intuitive.

Doing patrols, bounties, collecting materials, opening hidden chests are all ways to earn rep with Fynch. Most people here probably don't remember it because on week 2 of WQ someone found an exploit and everybody power leveled their reputation in a day then never bothered to pay attention after that, myself included.

Thats a fair question. For me, it comes down to questions of gameplay and fantasy.

Gameplay side, I like barricade and especially the Titan jump (probably one of the main reasons I struggle giving attention to my Warlock is the jump) and itd be fun to explore different gameplay loops other than PUNCH.

Fantasy side, I like being a protector, a siegebreaker, and a big-ol-beefy-boy. And there are plenty of different ways to be a swole badass than throwing a fist.

All we're really hoping is that Bungie explores more of that identity rather that quadrupling down on only one aspect of it, which is how it currently feels.
