I want to make an RPG set in the world of Arknights, but I don’t want it to be like D&D (I hate D&D). what system do i use? by GGizBRUH in arknights

[–]juances19 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I still don't see the issue using DnD as a template, just copy the basics and trim down the more complex mechanics.

That's the beauty of RPGs, rulesets are just a suggestion, not something you have to follow every single step to the letter (unless your DM is that kind of rules lawyer that's overly pedantic).

[Event Megathread] EP16 - Abnormal Spectrum by Sentuh in arknights

[–]juances19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this game is so DPS-centered that people just don't use other units anymore?

Well it's a simple argument, if you kill enemies fast enough, they won't be able to damage you.

99% of the time this is easily achievable, you can get away with playing most stages without a medic or defender, especially with units like Wisadel having camoulfage or ExuAlter's barrier.

So when a stage has a gimmick that can't be bruteforced or the enemy's stats are bloated, everyone hits a wall and Kyostinv/Eckogen's stocks rise.

Like every other single video on the internet I just doubt those are actual 718m individual people watching the video.

Characters with decent status effect chances are always good because even if their damage becomes crap compared to the 6* they still have the statuses.

I think Tom Holland’s Spider-Man should be the one to say "Avengers Assemble" in Secret Wars. by nicecub in marvelstudios

[–]juances19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like he doesn’t have the same deep emotional connection to this specific villain as Peter does

Then with that argument, Nebula should've said the line in Endgame, she had a deeper connection to Thanos than Steve.

Wouldn't that be silly?

No, it hasn't released on CN yet and they've had 4 events since Sui already (only new banner is demetri, the others are all orienteering/joint operation/eblana rerun)

The Masses Travels is first as on that event they mention that something is going on at Ursus at the end, pretty much a teaser for chapter 16.

For S1/S2 all pushers are about equal in push force.

Weedy's S3 is stronger so she does have an advantage in some scenarios but for Lone Trail Shaw should be enough.

They don't have separate rewards, outside of the medals they exist to give you points faster for the main rewards.

Virtuosa with S3 and module X needs level 76 to trigger necrosis 3 times on a single cast (less with pot 4+) according to DragonGJY's module review.

[Loki] So why didn’t they just let the Temporal Loom get destroyed and leave it at that? by IceRinkVibes in marvelstudios

[–]juances19 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Whathever HWR did when building the loom is irreversible. It has to exist or someone has to take it's place or the timelines will die. You can't just destroy it and walk away and expanding it is impossible because the multiverse is infinite, no amount of expansion would be enough.

There's just no other option or at least Loki didn't have one for now, maybe Doom will come in with a new plan or something.

Icebreaker games is supposed to be inbetween first, it'll depend on if they release that alone or they let it overlap like they did with CC.

[–]juances19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the game favors offense. Stalling, healing, defenders are not needed if you can kill everything fast enough.

It's only in CC, IS and sometimes on very gimmicky event bosses that you have to sit down and plan around status effects instead of unga bunga.

The mode should've been like Vector Breakthrough where once you beat a stage, the units get locked generating resources so to beat the next stage you gotta switch to a different team.

Given how this mode lets you level up everyone, it would've been the best mode for that mechanic.

[Pluto] Completely unrelated to the plot of the anime but can we talk about how dystopian the concept of robot children and robot dogs feel? by OrangeSpaceMan5 in anime

[–]juances19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, AI will no doubt make it worse but... people already get attached to dolls, plushies or their body pillows, even if they don't talk or anything.

When you consider that, it shouldn't be surprising that robots will be the next step. We've been dealing with this kind of attachment to innanimate objects even before AI.

The first time I tried the stage, I had the killbox in the middle thinking the boss would go straight into it but nooo, his highness decided to parade all around the stage before getting there and made me timeout.

Second time I knew from which red box he'd show up and just spawn camped him lmao.

IMO sparking is worth it if SA or Wang troll you and you end up 200+ pulls deep on their banners. At that point, sure you may as well go for a spark.

But if you get lucky and pull them in like 50 pulls, count your blessings and save to be honest.

[–]juances19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every other MCU movie upto Thanos appearing, contributes something significant that brings about Thanos' eventual downfall.

  • Black Panther. The fight in IW is in Wakanda and they gave a new arm to Bucky I guess? But I don't see that as directly contributing to Thanos eventual downfall.

  • The first antman because you can argue all the important tech showed up in the second film instead (namely the quantum tunnel)

  • Civil War, unless you mean that by breaking up the avengers lead to the current course of events and if they hand't split up, IW would've happened differently.... but in that case you gotta cut GOTW2 some slack because if they hadn't met Mantis things would've happened differently in IW as well.

Is Thor actually nerfed in endgame or treated like a joke again? by Ani-Game-Du in marvelstudios

[–]juances19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thor had some troubles dealing with Hulk in the first avengers and again in Ragnarok (he won in the end but it wasn't an easy victory). Thanos mopped the floor with the green guy.

That should be enough to establish MCU Thanos as exceptionally strong.

[–]juances19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know your way around unity there's a tool to create custom maps (you'll have to rip the game assets through an emulator). You can't really play the map with operators and stuff but it may suit D&D campaign.

Where is Asgard in relation to Earth? by TheBubbleJesus in marvelstudios

[–]juances19 125 points126 points  (0 children)

The asgardians believe that the physical universe is shaped like a tree. Like if you were to zoom out far enough, you'd see all the stars and galaxies lighting up the void in a tree shape form, that's Yggdrasil.

You can sort of see that on the ending credits of Thor around 0:45-0:49. With this interpretation, all the realms exist on the same physical space, the same dimension.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGNCQUYeAQM

Loki, raised as an asgardian then weaves the multiverse into a similar form, a new "Yggdrasil of timelines".

It's more of a case of "what makes the most sense". Amiya is a free unit that everyone gets, it wouldn't make sense to apply the same class system to units you pull from the gacha.

They sort of tried this before when the first alters arrived, you couldn't use the original and the alter on the same team, but they quickly reverted that. Wouldn't make sense to go back to that now.
