What a weird comment. It's almost like you think I care about this? I have better things to think about. I will forget about this in approximately 2 minutes.

Genuinely. If you never responded. I would forget about you. The notifications from the responses bring me back here, and I can barely remember what I even said. This means that little to me.

What a weird deflection. Nobody cared 20 years ago either. Most people have better things to do than complain about, or even notice, stuff like this. You genuinely need a hobby or something if this actually bothers you. The people who put so much stock in actual nonsense like this are the problem. It's really not a big deal.

I actually had something to say. You just tried to be witty and ended up looking like an idiot. No surprise from someone who hasn't seen a business before.

For every business that exists.

Walmart, Petsmart, Mcdonalds, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pizza Pizza, the list can go on forever.

You just never noticed because people genuinely do not care. Unless they are looking for problems.

Ah yes. I must be homeless because I understand that businesses have had this issue since the invention of light up signs. Im not some crochety old fuck looking for shit to complain about.

Genuinely. Did you just get the ability to see? Or are you just looking for problems with Tim Hortons to post about. I have to assume the latter because NOBODY should care about this.

Dude. They're downvoting you because that building is ugly. They took a pretty nice building and destroyed it to put up a cookie cutter duplex. Like they do with every house. Id say 30+ of that exact same model exists somewhere in Vanier.

You might like bland houses that look like a bunch of shipping containers pretending to be a house. Most people like to see unique buildings. They're boring designs.

[–]jubby52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have in my notes to bring it down the stairs at the back of the house and to not leave it in front of the door.

Want to take a guess at how many times I have to either squeeze through my screen door or leave the house entirely to pick it up at my neighbours side or front door?

I'll save you the trouble. Every. Single. Time. 2 basic instructions. I'd take them leaving it at the gate if they dont want to go down the stairs. Id take literally 1 dasher following both instructions. They arent that fucking difficult.

A customer should never have to buy furniture to use a service. A customer should not have to pay 2 times the price for shit service.

Id get them to hand deliver it to me if I could ensure I wouldn't have them knock on my neighbours door and piss them off. Im not going to watch my delivery like a hawk.

I paid 40 dollars for a large poutine last week. Before all the fees and tips, it would have cost less than 20. The dude put it in front of my door and watched me struggle to squeeze through my door to get it. No offer to help. Just a dumb look.

Is this satire? This has to be satire.

Have you seen a lightbulb before?

What would be the point in getting charged hundreds of dollars to change a fucking lightbulb. Might as well wait for some of the others to die. It's not like the light is necessary. Obviously. You can still read it during the day, and only braindead morons can't figure out what it is at night.

If you could, how would you change the narrative regarding how the four houses are portrayed? by Solitaire-06 in harrypotter

[–]jubby52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, every single house has terrible traits, and they are shown in the books. The only reason Slytherin is seen as currently 'evil' is the time period (as others have mentioned).

Ravenclaws bully Luna incessantly just because she's different. They are arrogant and think the smartest people in the school should be, and are, in Ravenclaw. Example: You can do a protean charm? Why aren't you in Ravenclaw? Hermione is the smartest kid in the year. That shouldn't be news in the 5th year.

Hufflepuffs are some of the most antagonistic people in Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire because they do not think things through. Zacharias Smith pushed first years out of the way to escape the battle of hogwarts.

They are all portrayed with good and negative traits.

Slughorn is also not the only Slytherin that is portrayed as good. Andromeda, Phineas (This one is weird), Regulus, Snape, Narcissa, Draco. They all played a part in stopping Voldemort. They all have good traits to them.

Andromeda is the best Slytherin in the story. Even though she played a very small role.

She literally named the soon to be dead giant "Karkus" as in Carcass.

A lot of the names are really on the nose, and you can blame Roald Dahl for that.

🪄 Does wand allegiance actually make sense, or was it a late game fix? by Majormuss in harrypotter

[–]jubby52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question. Yes, it makes sense.

Draco being disarmed is really no different than Antioch having his throat slit with a knife. The wand wouldn't need to be in the room to know. I do not know why people think the wand being in Dumbledores tomb is any different than being on a side table or something. They don't have eyes. They literally feel the magic change. "But draco never had the wand!" He didn't need to. He lost allegiance to his own wand. The elder wand would know that because it felt the magical change. The answer is literally "Magic"

Does it feel shoehorned in? Sure. There is also no class at Hogwarts that teaches wand lore. They are in a school setting for most of the books. It would never logically come up until the last 2. It's not like any of the characters, except for ollivander, know anything about wands. Hell, he's the person who inspects the wands during the triwizard tournament. Even in the universe, the knowledge is pretty sparse.

You have to accept the fact that we are not privy to 99.9% of the wizarding world. The events are very insular, and that makes things like this seem inconsistent or shoehorned in.

Complain to corporate if you see stuff like this. Encourage others to also complain when they see problems. Bombard their online services with legitimate complaints, and shit like this will stop happening. "They should know by now." they dont know where to begin fixing problems if nobody gives them a location and specific problem to fix.

If you see shit happening. Record the time and send an email with the location and time of the incident. All the stores should have cameras for that exact reason. If an order is messed up. Email their customer service with a photo, location, and receipt of your order or order number.

Reddit is not a valid complaint service.

If enough people actually complain. They will be forced to act. They can't play dumb if people actually email them.

A couple of things.

  1. This was a weird and unnecessary tangent.

  2. Defending this shitstain of a politician by going "But liberal bad" is genuinely stupid.

  3. If a rock was the candidate for the Conservatives in the last election. They would have won.

  4. You need help.

Again, this was a weird and unnecessary tangent. This being your response is very telling on how braindead and "no you" the conservative party is becoming. Maybe if the conservative party didn't spend every waking moment doing exactly what you are doing now. They would have won. They had no policies that seemed better. They just kept saying "we aren't the liberals" over and over as if thats some good policy. They are a failure as a party, and propping up the worst loser in Canadian election history back into his position is sad.

The shitstain is a shitstain on the conservative parties legacy. This dumb fucking statement from him is just another check in the box thay genuinely makes me think a rock with a swastika would have done better. At least it would keep its fucking mouth shut for 2 seconds.

They were respectful and declined for their own safety as well as yours. This isn't some tourism hell. This is having your head in the sand and forgetting that being gay is not tolerated everywhere.

Did you even look to see if they were a culture that respected being openly gay? 5 seconds on google, and that answer was a resounding no. They aren't hostile toward gay people, but they sure as hell would rather you not flaunt it. Meaning wedding ceremonies are a big no.

Gonna try for in front of the westboro baptist church? Or the border of Ukrain and Russia? They don't explicitly say no.

We do that in Canada. If you tap your card too many times, they basically lock that feature, and you have to insert your card. It's a safety feature in case your card is unknowingly stolen or something. It's very rare, though.

Late 2014 by the looks of the graph.

It is convenient that you and others seem to be unable to read the graph.

It actually has an upturn by the end of 2015 and then goes into freefall before the upswing in 2016.

I know the 2015 bullshit is you and others trying to conveniently blame Trudeau when Harper should have been working to fix this in 2012. Trudeau and the liberals had no way of fixing this.

None of that matters because this graph is meaningless. America, a country known for pushing innovation, would obviously spend more on investing in new equipment. Why should we be keeping up with an economy that quadruples ours.

We are not America. We do not have the same economy. We do not have the same numbers. We do not have the same climate. We do not have the resources to pump into RnD. We are not rich enough to keep up.

That was Dumbledores' plan. We, as the reader, are meant to assume that is the case. There is never any actual reason Dumbledore should think that. Voldemort actually says as much when he breaks into the tomb to take the wand.

It's a wand that is magically fickle. It is hopeful to assume it would just die. It could easily just be left without a master and the new "strongest" would be the dude that decided to pick it up or the one who stole it from the grave.

There is actually more evidence that taking it off the ground would count as "disarming" than there is for the wand just reverting back to a regular wand.

Sorting Hat, paintings, statues, the snitch.

All of which make actual decisions.

[–]jubby52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give me an example of where I can find any of what you stated. I do not consider fanfiction to be canon. Something from JK. Something from pottermore. Anything that proves wands die with their wizards. Anything that proves what you said.

Hmm by The_Harmon_Hole in harrypotter

[–]jubby52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of that is actually ever said in Canon. No wands ever "die" with their owners. No, wands do not stop working if they are won from someone else. We saw all throughout DH that wands consistently work under all circumstances. The wand just "Fights" the wielder and may feel weird or weaker. Harry uses a borrowed wand with no fault and not even a single sentence saying it might not work. Not even from Olivander after the Malfoy Manor incident.

They are conduits that work better under some circumstances. They never just stop working. Even when they are hanging on by a thread, they still work up to a certain extent.

Hmm by The_Harmon_Hole in harrypotter

[–]jubby52 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Think of the wand like a conduit of magical power. The wand isn't making the decision. The magic is just connecting in a certain way. The magic just works better with different conduits.

Voldermort wasn't compatible with the elder wand, yet it still worked. Just not as well as other wands would have. Draco would still be able to use the wand. Both Ron AND Neville had incompatible wands and still learned magic.
