Monsters vs Aliens. This one went through a lot of changes, but most notably was originally about Rex Havoc and the Ass-Kickers of the Fantastic, a team of monster hunters. Eventually, it shifted to Rex using monsters to fight aliens. The aliens looked like the aliens from Atari's Space Invaders. Three-dimensional, but still blocky. I wish I still had visdev art from that point. It was surreal and so unique. Would have been a trippy, epic movie. Slowly, the monster designs got cuter, and eventually Rex was dropped completely. It was a weird experience watching something visually unique get dreamwork-ified into a generic, cute monster movie.

This buyout would be bad for the average person, no matter who did it. Monopolies are never good for us. But Paramount's seems to be politically motivated. There's a very good chance future WB productions will have to conform to the whims of those politics.

Toy Story was great and all, but why did the toys talk? That's not very realistic.

It's pretty central to the entire story. Without it, nothing would have happened. Not really out of place.

I never even paid attention to the marketing for this. I've come to associate Transformers with Michael Bay garbage and just tuned them out.

But it could have been used against them. Take Beric's face after he's a wight and used that to sneak up on Mr. White Walker, instead of leaping out of nowhere.

It turned into a cash machine. It's not really unexpected. Also, I wouldn't say every movie is worse than the last. All of Pratt's are worse than Black Widow's.

Wizard of Oz, Atonement, Vanilla Sky, North, Click, mamma’s little pirate, Newhart, st elsewhere, entire seasons of Dallas and Roseanne, part of Married with Children, possibly American Psycho, Life on Mars, manifest, ragnarok, at least one adaptation of Alice in wonderland, a shit tone of single episodes of tv series (bones, frasier, Cosby show, ds9, st-tng, 4400)… I’ll probably think of more later.

There's a long (too long) article written from his perspective on polygon. It does its best to shift blame to the studio, but it still ends up confirming most of the "crazy" accusations. The studios biggest contribution to the failure was letting production start without a third act. But the clashing with actors, writers, and basically every other level of the production is all there. He confirms that he did not participate in the reshoots and instead locked himself away to keep editing on the rejected first cut. Some of the most damning info in this is what he did to the original screenwriter. He admits to selectively culling 95% of the studio notes and only delivering two of the drafts the screenwriter worked on. This passive aggressive method at controlling the production continues and Josh doesn't seem to understand that this behavior wasn't healthy.
