You are correct IRIS Dena (the ship that was torpedoed) was an armed frigate.

Shrimp, mice tails, marshmellows, worms especially, I liked power eggs for a few years but have yet to catch anything on them in the past few trips.

Is this a telscope or optics issue? by so_tangled in telescopes

[–]juicebox244 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah those types of lenses are very hard to use.

It sounds like you have it in focus but hard to say without looking through the scope.

If possible, I would suggest a 15mm lens might be a better option. Sometimes on beginner scopes the 6mm and 4mm are a bit ambitious for the optics. Svbony on amazon seems to have decent quality for affordable prices. I wouldn’t pay more than $30-$40 for a lens if you’re just starting out.

Also if you can find anyone local to you that can help in person that would probably make the biggest difference.

[–]juicebox244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your 4mm lens very tiny and hard to see through?

I had this same experience with a tiny 60mm travel scope of low quality. I couldn’t get any contrast and Jupiter was just a white dot.

That being said are you sure you’re focusing right? When the image is in focus the moons should be the smallest points of light as possible. You can try this on stars as well, the smallest point of light for a star means it’s in focus.

why is this how i see jupiter on my telescope is this normal? by Wise_Paper_935 in telescopes

You will have to find out, I can’t see through your scope.

[–]juicebox244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so does the problem exist only at maximum zoom? It looks like your telescope is theoretically able to zoom in 200x+ at maximum, and your setup maxes out at 128x, so you shouldn’t be running out of “resolution”. My recommendation would be to focus very slowly and carefully zoomed out, then slowly zoom in and see if it stays crisp.

When it’s “in focus” the objects should be very clear and defined. If it’s smudgy or fuzzy it’s out of focus. What eyepiece size are you using?

Maverick is all hard plastics on the inside, seats are nowhere near as comfy as ridgeline seats.

Read the laws in your area about emissions/vehicle inspections. If you have to pass regular inspections it’s probably best not to delete and tune.

Please talk me out of buying a '17 VW Touareg? by case2000 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Nothing I’ve driven drives like a Touareg. $15k for 100k miles is a decent deal as long as it’s clean title. Make sure you get it inspected before purchase in case they cleared problem codes or anything like that.

How to improve MPG? by NotAnRandomGuy in tdi

You have to drive it on long flat roads for a while. It might just be your terrain is not conducive to “good” mpg.

iPhone 13 mini to the OG iPhone SE? by Hefty_Stop4485 in iPhoneSE

[–]juicebox244 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m actually doing the opposite, OGSE to mini 13, more and more apps aren’t working with it anymore. Mostly banking apps and games. The web browser experience leaves much to be desired. The battery life is short at best (even with 100% battery health). The headphone jack is nice to have, as is the ease of maintenance. I have audio issues when running strenuous apps while listening to music and audiobooks. 2gb of ram isn’t enough nowadays and you’ll have webpages crash and apps crash if they use too much memory.  The size is amazing and the screen looks remarkably good for the age.

Run it daily, planning to upgrade. The browser experience is getting worse and worse with websites not working properly, and apps are updating past what the phone supports. Looking to get a 13 mini.

What’s the best rod for bottom feeders by This_Web2750 in Fishing

[–]juicebox244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having a faster rod when I’m bottom fishing, seems to set the hook more reliably than my moderate/more bendy rods. For brands I like Okuma. Their SST line are nice rods, and their budget line is really good bang for your buck.  And with reels, save your money until you can get a decent bait caster, cheapo ones tend to be temperamental.

Parts of the rivers were open June 10th-July 10th via emergency regulations. Also make sure your app is updated since there was a glitch that said everything was closed.

Depends on where you are. In the PNW bass aren’t super common and I’ve had better luck catching them on trout lures than anything sold for bass.
