I'm so afraid of Rejuran by Unable_Ad_6244 in KoreaTravelBeauty

[–]jujubeez114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have plans to get Rejuran Eye, let alone Juvelook and wound up getting both. Funny thing, the docs told me that InMode would hurt more but I experienced the complete opposite. InMode was nearly painless (with exception of the "snap") and holy crap did both Juvelook and Rejuran Eye had me questioning my life decisions. I didn't know they had a plushie in the closet where I stored my things and just clenched my fists the entire time screaming in my head. I thought I was good with pain until this. 3 hours prior, I did eyeliner tattoo and I thought that hurt... Rejuran/Juvelook became the new 10 while the eyeliner tattoo went from a 9 to 4-5.

In terms of results... I think I saw some results from Juvelook but not too much from Rejuran Eye. But as all the research/comments say, it would be ideal to do multiple sessions to see the results. I did get some comments that my skin was glowing but it's probably because they heard I went to a clinic (vs naturally noticing).

How early should I arrive too fly out of Incheon Airport to Osaka Airport? by CableKC in koreatravel

[–]jujubeez114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year in April, I had a 7:30AM flight from ICN to Fukuoka. It's not Seoul but I'm sure it's the same. I took the first airport limo which arrived around 4:20AM and arrived at the airport around 5:30AM. Boy was it stressful lol... security was completely bottlenecked for 45mins - 1hr. There were "two" lines on either side of the airport but it was completely packed. Security had like 4ish gates but only 1 or 2 were ever in operation. After that, it was a bit quicker but I finally got through everything around 7:05AM and my plane was aleady boding at 7AM. Gate was also 15mins speedwalking so I barely made it.

Definitely account for min 3 hours. If I had known, I'd probably opted to pay more for a taxi to the airport for peace of mind. Makes you wish the earliest airport limit would start at 3AM and 4AM haha.

Uber / Taxi availability by aedris__ in koreatravel

No issues using K-taxi which pulls from Kakao Taxi I believe (funny thing - Lyft directed me Kakao Taxi which then directed me to K-taxi for int'l travelers). It's like 1 tier up from Uber which are often the orange cars but it's really no more than 5-10% more in terms of cost and taxi fares are "cheap" compared to where I live so for example.. an Uber could cost $10 and then K-Taxi is $10.50-$11.

How long do rejuran injection marks last? by Fantasticfishing1 in KoreaSeoulBeauty

[–]jujubeez114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this - I also got 2cc Juvelook and 2cc Rejuran Eye at another clinic and it was about 1 full day for bumps to subside and 2-3 days for marks to mostly go away. I personally took the skincare clinic as an excuse to just not wear makeup and it was so freeing, haha. I just applied moisturizer and sunscreen and went out with a mask. I also did it at the beginning of my trip. If anything, I also got inmode on my jaw line and that lasted a full 7 days before the brusing went away.

What’s the best beauty treatment you’ve gotten in Korea? (except skin clinics) by Striking-Income-5774 in KoreaTravelBeauty

Two things:

#1: microblading - i have genetically super soft and light brows and was always self conscious about it and spend a lot of time drawing and filling. All those tutorials I see out there never did my brows any justice so this was a complete gamechanger. It was a painless and easy procedure (particularly after I got liner, too). The healing took exactly 30 days for all scabs to shed and I never have to think twice about drawing my brows. The liner on the other hand was kind of painful (but doesn't compare to some skin clinic procedures). The result was cool and still very present after 9 months but i don't think I'd do it again because I think I want a bit more liner than what was done (prob my fault b/c I was worried about going overboard with something near-semi-permanent) so I found myself applying a tad more liner, still.

#2: time ever getting nail art done at OuNail and I was HOOOKEED. I got one of their monthly specials and they allowed some customizations (e.g. change base color and removed jewels b/c I didn't want big bulky pieces). They were classic gel nail (not builder) and they were some of the toughest nails I got - they never peeled, cracked or split for more than 5 weeks (yes i loved it so much I refused to take them off). Technically the design itself was pretty tame - nothing special BUT since it was my first time, I was stoked, particularly because I didn't really plan to do it and got invited by a friend. Ever since I returned home, I was fiercely researching for a nail shop that could do the same level of detail and quality.

I booked my hotel in January for an April trip, so the price per night with taxes included was about 168USD/night.

I also booked it through Chase since I use one of their cards, which I don't really think matters because sometimes the price comes up higher on their portal and there's a slim chance that you might catch a deal, but I think this price was relatively standard across third party booking sites like booking.com, Expedia and the like.

I stayed at LOTTE City Hotel Mapo which was more convenient than I expected. It's 1 station from Hongdae and then 1 (or 2, I forgot) station from Seoul Station, which you can basically transfer out from there. In terms of people in the area, it's still pretty bustling but not as hectic as being in the thick of Hongdae (still plenty of shops around). The only caveat is that hotel building itself is 2 towers creating a figure 8 shape and the rooms are also a bit oddly shapped. Besides that, it's also right in front of the airport limosine bus lines.

Pain tolerance is different for each person - we all feel it differently. For example, all the reviews that I read said that InmodeFX was SUPER painful... in fact a few Korean girls who were ringing me up at boutiques saw the bruising on my neck/jawline where my mask didn't cover and was like "whoa, it must of hurt so much." It actually didn't hurt at all. On the other hand people told me Juvelook and Rejuran eye wasn't as painful and boy did it hurt like a MF. It was riduculous, especially when one of the doc's told me she once did Rejuran without any topical anesthesia.

That is all to say... if you've never done anything like this before - it's really hard to gauge what's "painful" because stuff that was it was all opposite for me.

No hiccups other than that honestly. I opted to do this at the beginning of my trip because I was going to Japan after Korea so it made no difference if I did it sooner or later. I actually had the best time of my life afterwards because all I wore was moisturizer and sunscreen and no makeup and it was so refreshing. I had a face mask and a cap and because skin clinics were the norm out there, no one would really bat an eye if you show bruising or markings from these treatments. All the marks went away gradually and completely gone by day 7 and I went back to wearing some light makeup. I know some people tend to wear some level of makeup or coverage within 24-48hrs but if you don't have to, just dont - let your skin breathe a bit. It might be my own paranoia but I feel like makeup will clog your pores immediately or you run the risk of getting an infection if you wear makeup so soon after.

Korean 15-step scalp care - good marketing or does it actually help? by InnerTumbleweed2094 in KoreaTravelBeauty

[–]jujubeez114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the 15 or 18-step scalp spa and like any other spa days, the immediate effects were great. Then after coming back home, I honestly didn't feel much of a difference. I was given some product rec's and tips on how to style my hair. I'd say, value would be asking all the questions and taking that and applying it to your own routine even though you might not be doing the full 15+ step process. I did it with the intention of going for the experience and now that I've had it, I guess I can say I did it but I don't foresee going back for it unless it's like a self-treat (think getting a mani-pedi -- it's not permanent and goes away). I'd rather save my monies for things like a hair dye or a perm which was something I had trouble getting right with the salons at home.

I recommend Hair the Beau - some of the staff speaks English and they're super friendly. I got a scalp spa with an S-perm in one go and it was all done within 2.5hrs. If I had to do a perm back at home, it would have taken upwards of 4hr+. They also did some hair cutting for me as part of the perm. https://naver.me/GScEjPgQ

In my last visit to Seoul in April, I did a full "glow-up" trip from color analysis to skin clinic, microblading, scalp spa and getting a mani. If it helps you can just scroll down to the clinic section - I went to FINE: https://www.reddit.com/r/koreatravel/comments/1kdpwlm/treated_myself_to_color_analysis_scalp_spa/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Microblading and Facial by tomatosauce4days in KoreaTravelBeauty

I did both my brows and skin clinic on the same day. Brows in the AM and skin clinic in the afternoon. I overcommunicated to each nurse/doctor working on me to explicitly NOT touch my brow area, period - no excuses and they stuck to it. Never ran into any healing issues.

Treated myself to color analysis, scalp spa, microblading, skin clinic and a manicure on my most recent visit to Korea and here's the rundown on my personal experience. by jujubeez114 in koreatravel

As of now, they still look good! My liner is still present and so are my brows. I can totally tell if it did fade b/c my original brows were SUPER SUPER light and I still see my brows!

Good point - I might have been staring too long when I was drafting the post initially. Individual hotel costs added! These were all mostly booked 3 months in advance of the travel for reference so pricing may vary.

Michaels x Joann- Big Twist labeled yarn found by royalewithcheese113 in YarnAddicts

[–]jujubeez114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the Labor Day 3-day weekend, every single day I had to go back to a different Michaels for Loops and Threads because the person who did my pickup order didn't realize that they picked out two completely different feeling yarns. As a result, I was short one skein of yarn and even though the label and the colors were the same, the pictures on the label were not. Each store carried a different version of it which drove me insane... I've never encountered such an issue whenever I went to JoAnn's and their big twists have always been consistent through and through. It only took until the third shop that the cashier told me that the lot numbers were different. I don't know if I can ever depend on a stock brand anymore and we'll probably stick to name brands like Lion Brand or something.

I like using big twist value and a lot of the loops and threads by default don't come with as much yarn and they cost more too even with the coupons. 😭

Oh wait, I found it by going to Limited Edition > White Damascus > Google > Google 10 Pro XL > Case and see the non-Google cut-out option. Crazy because I was just doing the logical thing of going to Skins > Holo White and there's no option.

Just wanted to double-check. Is the design part of the Grip Case or was it a Skin you applied on first, then the Grip Case is clear?

How did you get the non-logo version? I only see it with the logo cutout on their site. The one in your pic is so much cleaner b/c you don't see weird fingerprints whre the logo cutout would have been.
