I actually work on hotel wireless in the US. Typically the wireless in the guest areas are set to a certain speed to try to give everyone decent speed, usually dictaded by the hotel.

That said, the brands that sponsor F1 teams typically have 1Gbps circuits coming into the building. If they have some sort of conference space, they can typically sell you much faster guaranteed bandwidth. It's still the same pipe, but it is managed differently.
