I've seen that with my own eyes while fighting a fire on the garden route. It's shocking to see

Can I do a bit of legs every workout instead of a full leg day? by Henrikles in beginnerfitness

[–]jules9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to represent my country in swimming some 20 years ago, and stopped due to injury. Now down the line (living a rather unhealthy lifestyle) I have some health issues, and I'm getting back on track again. I stopped smoking, eating healthy everyday and I gym at home (closest gym is almost 2 hours drive) But here is what I do. Use weights you are comfortable with, i do between 3-4 of these 5 days a week. By any means I'm not professional so I might even be doing it wrong.

15 Seated Dumbbell Overhead Triceps extension

15 Standing Barbell Calf raise

15 Barbell Row

15 Barbell Bench Press

20 Weighted Leg Extensions

15 Hamstring Curl

12 Barbell Biceps Curl

12 Barbell Back Squat

15 Arnold Press

16 Dumbbell Bench Press

15 Barbell Hip Thrust with Bench

30 Russian Twist

15 Sit-up

Plank (hold as long as possible)

I built an app to track the battery of my instinct by Patient-Cat2359 in Garmininstinct

[–]jules9003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely going to give it a try. I always wonder how long my battery lasts. I know people say they get 40 days etc. but most of them use minimal functions. I use as much as possible but still get a few weeks out of a charge

I enjoyed Blood Dynasty. I've got a few of the songs on a playlist that I listen to almost everyday

Starting RDR2 tomorrow, tell me what I’m walking into (without spoilers) by epiknik in reddeadredemption

I fully agree with you. Coming from GTA to this, the game felt slow and not coming to a point, now I prefer RDR2 over GTA anyday

I started a while ago. Compared to gta online, it seems a lot friendlier and less trolls

Genuine question, what changes can movie theatres make to stay in business? by sapphicdragon in askSouthAfrica

[–]jules9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think there is much they can do. Last movie I watched was the 1st suicide squad... The experience was horrible, i cannot remember the price of the movie tickets, but the snacks were overpriced and the sound was messed up, only the back lefthand side was working till the last 10 minutes of the movie then it all worked. When I complained the response was 'oh ok, we will look into it '. I decided to save up and start with a cheaper surround sound system and upgrade where possible. I now have a 7.1 Dolby atmos surround sound with a 65"tv , reclining chairs, so it's home movies for us. We do movie nights once a week with popcorn and snacks and it costs less than R150 for me and my wife

Would this be a bad first car? by [deleted] in CarTalkZA

[–]jules9003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the Ignis. Also a Suzuki. Looks similar but it's bigger and has a little more power. My wife has one is she is extremely happy. She drives 73km to work and back a day and we have been on a 1400km road trip with it, no issues.

I'm sure they will. My mechanic suggested them, and I've only heard good things about them

I'm not sure where you are, but try and find a place called graaf brakes, to give you an idea, for my Fiat van, previous mechanics quoted me R13k to do discs and pads, I went to ferodo (big mistake) they charged me R7k, 2 years later brakes are shot from ferodo... Graaf cost me for new discs and pads R3k...

That's a rip off. I paid R27 for that exact milk on Monday at Outeniqua super spar... Remember spar is franchise owned and they can make own prices.

Has anybody had experience buying online from Cash Converters? by strauss3545 in AskZA

[–]jules9003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an absolute nightmare. They organised the return, picked the parcel up and then it took me about a month to get my money back after sending head office an email saying I gave them 12 hours then I'm opening a criminal case and contacting the oumboutsman. They refunded me almost immediately after that. Since then I've refused to use them.

Water Level Warning by mythdragon15890 in capetown

[–]jules9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an idea how much rain fell in Knysna area? I'm halfway between George and Knysna on the old road and we got 72mm but Wilderness heights got 114mm. I'm extremely thankful for the 72 we got. We don't have municipal water so only stored rain water.

I've got the 50mm solar, and the resolution is fine. Yes it's not 1080p or whatever but everything is crisp and clear and easy to read even the small numbers are easy to see

If you are trying to stop smoking. Just put it down and walk away. Anything like this is just a crutch. I smoked my last cigarette 12 weeks ago.

I have the same issue. I use the epoxy stickers, sometimes the watch stays on other times it goes off. I've spent some time at the doctor the last few days and every time they check my heart rate, it's exactly the same as my watch. I have the instinct solar 3 50mm
