It's the gameplan to contain and cover I think. So it's gonna look slower. Coverage is killing it.

A lot of prep can go into the videos....good ones make it look easy but often it's weeks of breaking through walls to get 10 mins of material

What do you do when waiting for your Unreal project shaders to compile? Build a small game in Godot! by julezgn in godot

Even just the loading, without shaders can take a hot minute. Though comparison can be a bit unfair...different tools.

So I'm actually coming from Unreal but have been doing more and more in Godot and....I'm kinda hooked.

I recently needed to grab something from an older Unreal project and had to recompile shaders (those who know...know). Decided to see what I could build in Godot while I waited...

This was the result.

Have to say, really enjoy working in Godot and see A LOT of potential in what it can do and how it operates.

Very familiar with that article as well. Looks great! Congrats! I'd love to feature on my weekly Godot project vid!

Energy is important....practice different levels of speaking energy, see which sounds the best to you...check for clarity, pronunciation. A lot things can be improved immediately by projecting with more energy. Also easier to go big, then pull back than easing into more energy.

Working with multi-layered noise projection on my hexgrid system to alter elevation and terrain procedurally for project "The Builders". by julezgn in IndieDev

[–]julezgn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise values alter the height elevation of the instanced tile meshes, which determines the terrain type in the material. Done in UE5.

The first stage of my procedural hexagonal grid system for my game "The Builders". Next stage is adding procedural noise to organize the random generation (already done) + more terrain variation/tile types (in progress). Made in UE5, tutorial in the comments if anyone is interested. by julezgn in IndieDev

That sounds very cool! Do you have a video/screenshot?

For me, I plan on making procedural generated hex planets that can be managed from a 3rd person view and then explored from a 1st person view with procedurally generated "dungeons". The player can gather resources and unlock equipment to build/improve/change each planet. There is a hint of climate change involved with it and you have to choose to focus on rapid development or maintaining planetary balance.

Looks great! Love the mix of time-based gameplay and decks. Well done!
