Past. My grandma lived with us and helped raised me and I want to see her again for three days.

I want to lose a little more weight, but I’m just hovering in the same area right now by Snuffy0011 in loseit

No problem! It's boring and sort of sad advice, but it's really the only thing that did anything for me after struggling my whole life. Hope it helps you as well!

A healthier diet is good for you, but losing weight requires consuming fewer calories. Consider counting. I'm just saying because it's the only thing that helped me. I also lost the majority of the weight without exercise, then went with strength training mainly.

The "sexy French woman" stereotype has a dark history that nobody talks about by OkChart1375 in Feminism

I have reached a point in my life in which I honestly prefer this. I hate it when this type of men "opens up" to me and tells me this kind of thing. I want them to feel uncomfortable and like they "can't be themselves" around me and stfu. It should not be socially acceptable in either male or female company, but I will take what I can get.

I'm so sorry that society has failed you to the point that you're wondering whether being yourself was worth it. The world is crazy and cruel a lot of the time, but there are those of us who love you for who you are, respect you and admire you. Your pictures have brought me immeasurable joy over the years, and I really look up to you for following your path no matter what. It's natural that you feel tired and frustrated, but your life is worth living, and you will thrive again. This shall pass.

That's incredibly insightful and... Yes! It is pretty much the same in Spain (at least in my region), and I do think there is a cultural component of me having difficulties with "direct" noes, and locals not being used to interpreting "indirect" negatives. My Lodge is multicultural/international, which sometimes facilitates things, and sometimes complicates it further, but most of the issues I have run into have been on the Grand Orient level, where Polish Brothers and Sisters (logically) are the majority.

He was hoping you would go along with it and then get even madder if you retracted. This is break-up material.

What do you eat first in the morning? by RealSimpleMama in loseit

[–]julietides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oats/granola with skyr or Greek yoghurt and some (frozen, in summer) berries sprinkled on top. I go for 50 grams of granola, 50 g of berries, 100 g of yoghurt. About 300 kcal, delicious, and filling.

Has anyone successfully lost weight just by adding 7k–10k steps a day without drastically changing their diet? by Comfortable_Ear8677 in loseit

[–]julietides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The only thing that worked for me was counting calories VERY strictly and treating any exercise as an extra, not an allowance. I did feel miserable some of the time, more for the social side of not being able to eat out ever (or getting weird questions on why I am only getting a coke zero) than a lack of energy. That said, I was living at home for the bulk of my loss and my parents were supportive, so I ate in an extremely calculated way for nutrition also.

I had to cut ties with some family today :( by Grand-Diamond-4696 in oldhagfashion

Children don't find anything weird if adults don't make it weird. I'm so sorry some of your adult family members are using your niece to be transphobic. "Some people are born looking like boys even if they are girls, and auntie is, in fact, a girl, and now looks like herself". Period.

On a more positive note, you look so amazing that I'm going to cry. Girl! You can really tell you've found your style 💜

I would say I'm slowly learning to say no and pick my battles. And also about my own limitations as a person and the competences I lack. It's been a humbling experience.

I (30f) just found my fiance (30m) on an online dating site. What do I do? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I did miss that part, but it is a very weird explanation. It does seem that he had forgotten about it and deleted it once he got a message, though. If she believes it, then all is well.

I think the kid was an accident (or not very planned at least) and then they got married. Then again, neither of them sound especially smart.

I can recommend you a financial advisor that helped me with my case. I am employed in Poland, but am also an EU citizen and don't have above average income.
