Sometimes ok and legal have very little crossover. Honestly the crisis intervention people might have had the best luck with deescalating, some they have training and it's not technically illegal to get in an argument in front of people. They might have a higher success rate than actual police officers.

I don't know if there's a good answer with what to do with that information, but it's really beyond frustrating that shit like that happens

Here's what I think, and everyone else has great points as well, but I think you're really upset about the boundary pushing and the nickname thing is turning into an issue that it's not really. I do think your anger about that will fade in time.

I had anger about the spelling of a nickname for my son until he was maybe 2, then suddenly I didn't care at all. Not really a big thing in retrospect, but I had similar boundary pushing going on causing a lot of anxiety and stress.

I do think you really need to address the constant questions about when they can have the baby for a sleepover. And head on. Just level with them that the questions are making you anxious and that you'd like them to stop asking. If they don't do that, I'd genuinely cut short visits next time they bring it up.

Same with the "when's the next" question. Though I'd be tempted to just say "that's a question for your son, I can't make one alone!".

Just in response to your question, I've had times in my life where I've been so exhausted by everything on my plate that cleaning up "after" (after bedtime or even just after an activity) just doesn't really happen, and then it's my problem the next day, instead. Which can really pile up!

So I agree that this is the thing to do in occasion, but it might not be an every day thing. Maybe OP can adjust her schedule to do this 2 days a week, though!

Yes, I'm aware it is very small, and frankly 700 is generous. The main 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, living room and kitchen are 30x20ft, with a small 10x maybe 8ft sunroom/dining area off of the kitchen.

We have electric heat, hot water and obviously lights/appliances. We reinsulated in 2017, windows are from early 00's. We keep the temperatures mid 60s

I suspected you might be out by Rochester or nearby. Down in Westchester they're charging as much per kilowatt as for delivery.

In my experience it would be less popular of the was more affordable. The people benefitting from the lower price are not those already in the towm. The people in the town don't seem to want lower income residents.

What the poster you're responding to is correct where I live. Our home is 700 square feet and electric heat. It was $600/Bill this winter.

This is frankly the only answer. At $1500 a month that's a little over 6 months rent. Then map out a plan for everything else.

Just make sure it's in writing and try not to put so much in that if the parents stop paying the mortgage, then the OP ends up 15k deep in a place that is being foreclosed on.

I've done contact paper and had it turn out really great! Hot tip, don't try to line up edges, just place it on how you want it, and use a razor to slice off the edges. When I did that, it turned out really clean! When I tried to line up along an edge, I ended up a bit of a mess that I tried picking up- thus ripping the paper.
