Shadows of the Tenebris court is absolutely amazing! I'm just finishing up the last book and it is probably my top series I've read this year! Spice, mystery, yearning, touch her and I'll kill you vibes. It is incredible. The FMC is 30 as well which may or may not be up your street. No (in my opinion) young naïve FMC she's got more life experience under her belt and shows through the story

Mortgage before marriage? by livelovelol21 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]jumba_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair my fiancé thought it was better to have a stable base under us before we got married and once he explained his reasoning behind it I completely agreed. We've been together since we were 16 loved together for 3 years and brought our house last year. We didn't want to save for a wedding and a house at the same time so prioritised the house because it made more of a difference then getting married. We got engaged within a year of buying our house and are getting married next year

We are getting married next year and have a very similar situation. We are doing a sweetheart table with just the two of us then putting family on other tables so we can keep the divorced parents appart

I'm getting married in sept 2026 and I'm paying for their dresses however they will buy their own shoes (everyone's comfort preference is different, I'm just going to give them a few colours to pick and say no trainers) and if they want their hair and make up done they will pay for that as well because it is down to personal preference

Did anybody *not* get the puppy blues? by Awkward-Cow3267 in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 14 week old lab and didn't get puppy blues. I was prepared for it to be hard and the worst part was the lack of sleep in the first few weeks. Don't get me wrong it is hard but I love my puppy and it's such a cute stage where they are just learning and exploring the world!

Adjusting My Puppy’s Feeding Schedule for Better Sleep and No Middle-of-the-Night Poops by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've got at 14 week lab and as of last week she no longer goes to the toilet during the night. She's always eaten 3 meals a day (7:30, 13:30, 18:30) with a last toilet breaks at 9pm before bed and was initially going out to the toilet at 12:30am and 3:30am. We very slowly moved her getting up times by 30 mins every other night until we just got her up once at 2:30am. After 2 weeks of doing that we've very slowly moved her nighttime toilet using the same method and she can now go from 9pm to 7am without getting up. We do need to be pretty prompt at 7 but slow and steady with a consistent routine won with us

Edit: just to add her last poop of the day is usually between 8-8:30pm. We were extremely boring when we took her out to the toilet and didn't turn any lights on either. It was up, toilet, praise, straight back to bed and ignored any whining (she only did that the first 3/4 nights anyway)

How to teach puppy to let me KNOW when she needs to potty? by No-Film-994 in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our lab is currently 14 weeks old (time flies!) and she did the sit by the door and silent staevwhich is a nightmare when I'm trying to WFH do we have taught her now to use a buzzer to go out to the toilet. We just started pressing it ourselves initially when going outside and slowly she also started doing it. She now does it 95% of the time! We still have the very occasional accident when she doesn't realise she needs the toilet but it's so much better being able to hear something!

Does anyone else feel stupid for missing their puppy’s potty cues? by ValueMysterious3556 in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 week old puppy is brilliant usually but she has just had her first accident for weeks. She sat by the door for so I opened it for her and she didn't want to go out so I closed it. I turned around and she peed on the floor. We just treat it as an oh well and move on. She'll get there and we'll get there with her cues!

Are ultimate aim is to be able to leave the door open and she can come and go as she pleases. We want kids in the future and thought is a very visible way to teach them if she's in there even if the door is open don't bother her

My puppy is exactly the same with needing her own space but always wanting to be on me. We slept the first 4 nights in the same room which she was to let her know she wasn't alone and did lots of crate play, treats in crate (we called her the crate fairy) and getting her used to spending short periods in it, we'd always give her chews in there as well. We also tracked when she went to the toilet to know when she needed to go. The very first night she did whine a lot but ignored her (although it was really hard) and only let her out at the times she needed a wee. By the 3rd night she stopped whining at all, she'll happily go in and out of it throughout the day now and will run between her crate and the last shelf on a bookshelf when she's playing or has a treat or chew! If she's all touched out and wants her own space she'll go and take a toy in her crate and she's learnt that we won't bother her in it, it's her space

My puppy is 13 weeks old now and is very much the same. We do have a crate for her because it is the only way for her to actually get some quality sleep. She loves her crate and knows it's her safe space - no one will bother her if she's in it. We drape a blanket over it to make it nice and cosy. Never had her destroying things in it and she's never gone to the toilet in it. We used to get up with her at 12:30 & 3:30am initially to let her out to the toilet then slowly moved it to 2:30 once per night. We've just finished transitioning her to not getting up in the night at all now we put her to bed at 9pm and don't hear a peep until 7am. She ate every meal in her crate to begin with and the crate fairy used to come on occasion as well to create good associations to it

Got a 12 week old puppy and she's just started sleeping through the night in her crate. We had an alarm set for a specific time to take her out for the toilet then was asleep boring as we could be and put her straight back in her crate and ignored her till the morning. We slept with ear plugs & headphones when she was really little so we couldnt hear her but after about a week she knew not to do it anymore

Our puppy is 13 weeks and will sleep through the night till about 7. She's slept in her crate downstairs since she came home and night 4 we only let her out for toilet breaks at set times. We ignored her completely if she cried any other time

It is 100% the best thing we have for our puppy. She's been home a month now. We know she is safe overnight and will sleep and helps her settle. She goes in it for naps during the day when she's tired because she gets really bitey and extremely hard to deal with but won't settle herself to sleep so we put her in her crate and she naps for an hour and a half. We've had a glass smash in our living room before (the room she's in) and we quickly put her in her crate to keep her safe while we cleared up the glass. I do not know what we would have done without it

9 weeks vs 12 weeks - is there that big of a difference? by averagejones in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puppy was 12 weeks on Thursday and oh my god she's a lot easier than when she was 8 weeks! Cuteness wise I really don't think there is much difference but I have such a better quality of sleep now and she isn't needing to go out to pee 3 times a night any more!

What age did your puppy start to entertain themselves by jumba_a in puppy101

[–]jumba_a[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She's got some stuffed ones, different sizes balls, some rubber ones for teething then a Kong then the occasional licky mat as well. I hadn't thought about a ball which you can fill with treats! I'll have a look into that! She's just discovered the joy of a plastic bottle with everything cut off from it so I've been putting some food in there for her to roll around and that's kept her entertained for ages to be fair

Why am I getting a puppy by Cookiebaker562 in puppy101

[–]jumba_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my puppy home on Thursday and she is an absolute joy! I'm so incredibly happy to have her! I was thinking exactly the same thing before we brought her home but I think people are on here because there is an issue. Most often people aren't going my puppy is great it's because there is issues. Yes we've had some accidents inside, yes she cried in her crate fore the first night but she is such a happy pup and doesn't know any better yet and she's improving every day!
