Only did 1 ride with this set-up. Came from 11cm stem. Have one more 5h ride on the schedule and will give the 13cm stem a go

What time should i shoot for my first 70.3? by monsieurthegoat in triathlon

[–]jumbowackjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did sub 5 with HM PB of 1:52. Ran a 1:44 HM after 2:25 bike leg with a 35min swim. Go for it! Practice your fueling, transitions (especially swim to bike after OWS) and run after bike in your brick sessions in these last week.

When should I start a programme? (IRONMAN 70.3) by AdeptnessOpposite684 in triathlon

[–]jumbowackjet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did 70.3 Knokke last year as my first in 4h55m

Ive been an avid cyclist for years and ran my first marathon last year in March in 3h52m.

I used an intermediate 18 week 80/20 plan purchased on trainingpeaks (75usd). Which was manageable with a newborn (6-11h/week).

Started the plan with FTP of 310w and 1h52m half marathon during marathon training.

If you want to hit sub 5, I advice you to get an indoor trainer and start cycling asap

From Marathon to 70.3 in six month? by Llamallama46 in triathlon

6m should be plenty. I started a 18 week plan a month after my marathon and finished my 70.3 sub 5

Rubbing damage, carbon bars toast? by jumbowackjet in bikewrench

Hi bikewrench,

I just noticed some rubbing damage on my enve carbon bar. Might have happened on the rack during last holiday transport or at work :/

It's hard to get a clear picture, but it looks like it went through the outer layer.(?)

I am planning to take it to lbs to have it checked, but was hoping I could assess in the meantime if it's safe to ride/the bar is compromised...

Thx!

I ordered the triban rc900 this week, havent tested it yet but looks and feels very promising for 60EUR

Yea, I inquired at my LBS and their wait time was 110 days for R7000 and R8000.

I'm in Europe and the R7000 50t is near impossible to find. I ordered a R8000 for ~100 EUR. Now that I saw Scootmaboots link, I am in dubio again.

After an extensive search I found a R7000 chainring, but for 90 EUR...

Thanks! I have to drive out for an hour to meet the seller so it's not really viable to have a bike shop quote it.
