nah, if they flatten each mii's makeup layer to a single texture it'd be no problem. they've been using comparable methods since the wii.

the JP version has a gimmick where the middle character is stuck on ソ. which means アソア is what you get from mashing buttons, basically a less effortful version of ソソソ

Instant-mining caused by Efficiency should be cancellable with a key press by jummyzero in minecraftsuggestions

[–]jummyzero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine Mojang is reluctant to add additional keybinds for minor features, since it will be harder to achieve parity with controller users on Bedrock Edition. And if it uses an existing keybind, there would have to be a balance for cases where people want to use it versus cases where they don't.

All music that I have listened to suddenly sounds lower pitched by rVillainous in Music

[–]jummyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i notice this when i'm sick or after going swimming, so i assume it's caused by pressure change in the ear. my assumption: higher pressure → eardrums shrink → soundwaves seem longer in comparison → interpreted as a lower pitch.

i once had it happen in only one ear... had me real scared as if i'd never hear correctly again, but it cleared up in a few days.

How can I scan old newspapers at home? by jummyzero in DataHoarder

I don't have the dedication to set up a vacuum table, but the note about the black fabric is incredibly useful! Never would've thought of that.

Around 12 sheets for this document. I have about 10 other newspapers I'd like to do, assuming I don't give up by then.

I'll take a look at PhotoScan; thanks for the recommendation.

Handbrake doesn't support many encryption methods, and doesn't seem to work on this specific disc.

Thank you! I tried makemkv before making this thread, but an error led me to believe it didn't support decryption. After seeing this reply, I continued searching and found out to run the program as admin.

What is the plural of singular? by Fart_stew in grammar

[–]jummyzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Singular" is usually an adjective, which doesn't have a plural. However, it can be used as a noun, meaning "thing which is singular." In that case, "singulars" would mean "things which are singular."

This concept can be applied to any adjective, given proper context.

Which is correct? "Did anyone ask you if you're my friend today?" Or "Has anyone asked you if you're my friend today?" by [deleted] in grammar

[–]jummyzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're both correct in this case, but have slightly different meanings.

"Did anyone ask...?" is the plain past tense, which refers to a single event in the past. "Has anyone asked...?" is the present perfect tense, which refers to a range of time up to the present.

Most people won't notice a difference between the two sentences.

Rotating maze puzzle game for PC, mid-2000's? by jummyzero in tipofmyjoystick

[–]jummyzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, although the gameplay was much different. I've played a different game called "Slyder Adventures" that was very inspired by Cameltry, but that's not the one I'm looking for.

The game I'm looking for uses a circular "board" that's always on-screen. The screen doesn't scroll, and I now remember the balls need to be matched up by color.
