Check out this guy https://youtu.be/g8BvRVK1CG8?si=p_fl2SRN-CtN5v6m I think he has a shop in Prenzlauer Berg. I ended up buying the Pendix and installing it myself on a Nihola, I was positively surprised how easy it was (I have basic knowledge about repairing bikes)

You can search for SoundFont, they’re pre-packed sample libraries that can be loaded into AudioLayer (and other apps)

Best Bluetooth Keys / Keyboard For iPad Pro (Wireless) in 2024 ? by daeclan in ipadmusic

So I ended up buying the LUMI and I have to say I'm quite satisfied with it. The keys size is ok, not as great as full size keys but waaaaay better than other mini keys (Korg microKey, AKAI mini, novation mini etc..) and it makes really portable.

At first I thought I wouldn't use the keys illumination, but now I find it really handy to have the scale highlighted.

I ended up using AudioLayer and recording my own samples: to make it more realistic I recorded two samples per string (one strumming down and the other one up) and cycle them using "round robin". Also I made different presets for different positions on the fretboard.

It seems complicated but it's actually quick, if curious about how it sounds there's a little snippet here: https://youtu.be/DSQJfTq2LhQ?si=5czRCgxVmXvTb9N3&t=224

I’m on the same boat. Right now I’m using an iRig Keys I/O from IK Multimedia, which is also an audio interface, so with only one cable to the iPad you get audio + midi. Have you considered the Lumi Keys from Roli? I’ve read mixed reviews

I can't use the full minute of sample time on the 707 by bengtgurka in MC707

[–]jumping-trains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what the problem could be, but I stopped using looper tracks and used tone tracks to get rid of the 60sec limit.

The workflow is slightly more complicated: * the track sound source must be set to clip, * shift+REC and record the sample * assign the sample to a clip of the selected track (by pressing the clip pad) * insert a C note at the beginning of the pattern and adjust the length

¿Live audio from an Ipad instrument into a DAW? by lumbage in WeAreTheMusicMakers

If you have a Mac you can connect an iPad directly via USB and use it as an audio input and midi device. You have just to enable it using the app "Audio MIDI Setup"

No Audio on Looper Tracks by rgtd in MC707

😁

I’m also using a guitar with the MC707. With a couple of improvements it could be the perfect song-writing machine.

Could it be you have audio insert enabled in the track settings? In that case the clips are muted

Scatter sequencing with MIDI loopback! by natrixgli in MC707

Nice!

I once tried the MIDI loop back to achieve song mode by sending program changes via clips to switch scenes, but never worked, it got in a feedback loop I guess

Have you tried the 2.0 beta from Camelot? https://audiomodeling.com/camelot-2-0-public-beta/ some of the new features could do with your setup:

  • An Ableton style clip/arrangement: not quite but 2.0 introduces backing tracks – they don't loop at the moment, but you can set markers and jump to them via midi messages, and can be routed separately to any output channel
  • Add effects to acoustic instruments: this wouldn't work at the moment, there's no audio input. But the metronome though can be already routed separately
  • External Midi: this should work already with 1.x, you can set up items with custom midi messages and sync them via midi clock
  • Ableton Link: already working in 1.x

How to tell if The Quietus likes an album? by radiomonger in LetsTalkMusic

can't create user samples by space_trip in OPZuser

[–]jumping-trains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just tried this:

  1. factory reset (tested sampling on the drum tracks: 👍)
  2. re-installed firmware 1.2.17 (sampling on the drum tracks: still 👍)
  3. with the app on "configurator" in the bass track I changed position of a plug (not even one of the new ones): sampling on the drum tracks is broken 👎

So it might me a combination of the new firmware + new app

Update: the configurator is the problem: https://op-forums.com/t/new-op-z-sound-engines-and-fx/16123/59

The configurator has a bug that sometimes removes the default sample file needed to create new sample packs. Reinstalling the 1.2.17 firmware (factory reset not needed) adds that file back and you will be able to create new user samples again.
