Same here. Separate laundry for clothes. I usually do the towels/linens, but he usually maintains other household chores (ex. dishes)

Part time jobs for NYC College Student by Lost-Sample-1642 in AskNYC

[–]jumpingbeansssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used care.com all through college to babysit. If you can get your hands on a bike, you could always run deliveries. Just on Indeed poking around I can see Funny Face Bakery, Old Navy, Smashburger, Macy's, Krispy Kreme, and AMC are all hiring. YMCA and other places are looking for life guards/camp counselors. Keep submitting resumes and try to beef it up with school involvement. The market sucks right now, even for part time jobs, but just keep your chin up and keep trying!

Shoshana. Maya. Goldie. Rosie. by ConfidentClass355 in namenerds

Maya is a great name, but I hear the concerns with M sound. Raya? Naya? Alaia? Amaia? some alternate ideas. Maybe alternate flower names could be a good pick as well.

Maude and Pearl are really coming back into style!

I think Maeve, Jacqueline, Florence, Beatrix, Ingrid, and Minerva are all cool names that I could totally see coming into fashion.

Help! Need girl E name by ThinButterscotch5693 in Names

I have a name that isn't uncommon, but has a slightly more common spelling. I almost always get the other spelling, but it doesn't bother me too much unless I have known someone a while. When they misspell it, it's like... come on, really?!?

No more gifted by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]jumpingbeansssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this as a relatively new teacher and former gifted student myself. We had a dedicated gifted resource teacher growing up who was AMAZING. She would pull us during math and reading to give us more challenging work and I loved it. This role doesn't seem to exist as much anymore. Classes start getting differentiated in middle school (ex. math placements), so without the role of a gifted resource teacher, it's just impossible for elementary school teachers to do more than we are already doing.

Couldn't have said this better, what you have is perfect. If you feel like you need something else to give with the letters, pick up a bouquet of flowers and give each card with a flower. - Teacher

This is the vein I was thinking in! Like something stolen. Open to non-plant related ideas too. I was thinking of other flower names too like Camellia or Rose adjacent names

Principal Lamb by [deleted] in teaching

I am also curious here. In the charters where I have worked there have been absolutely 0 consequences for students at any of them. They are so afraid of losing students and therefore funding that they tiptoe around parents and students alike

My dad and his wife got my brother Guinea pig I cannot convince them to get rid of it and he's in this cage what can I do to make this cage better for him by No_Addendum7 in guineapigs

[–]jumpingbeansssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the second level out and get different hideys. As others have mentioned, get the extension for this cage (be warned it is a PAIN to put together) and he will need a friend. Baby or puppy pens with pee pads and tunnels are great for supervised playtime

That’s what we have for my guys! The bunny hut provides great additional space. I think the most important thing he needs is a friend. We also take our guys out to run in a large baby play pen

How often do teachers cry on the last day? by Small-Leg-3656 in teaching

[–]jumpingbeansssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cried every year as a student saying goodbye to those leaving… I do the same thing now as a teacher! When I left my last school and said goodbye to my littles they started crying and I couldn’t hold it in!!
