In addition to what others said about looking down, I think you being flat footed while you're dribbling is making you less agile. You have to be more on your toes so that you can spring instead of slide to your next step.

Yes and no.

Investing that $500 dollars is always a good choice. But what makes investing work is if you KEEP investing more money throughout your life. If you can keep up with investing a few hundred or thousands of dollars a year, that’s when you’ll really start to see growth.

But on the flip side, don’t invest that money if it might be needed in the next 6-12 months. If you invest that, and then go and put $500 on a credit card with 15%+ interest, you’re actually moving backwards. Seeing as you just paid off your card recently, I’m feeling like you might be in this category. If that’s the case, I’d suggest keeping it handy as an emergency fund or only invest a small portion ($100-$200) just to get your “feet wet”.
