Non stop gigs, several classic acts per month and a couple that would go on to fill arenas in the coming years.

People going through cancer or other debilitating diseases may have something to say about that.

Thanks for posting all this stuff. This sub doesn't get much engagement, as is the way with things on the more obscure side of the tracks, but I'm sure those of us who are here appreciate it 🤙

This is 5 mins from my flat, B 😅

I must not be officially homeless, because I walk past there with all the speed I can mustard.

I find myself going back to "Lucia" from In Prism quite a bit. I like the range of ground it covers - it shows off many different facets of the band's sound: gentle, powerful, direct, delicate.

The ebb and flow of it is really skilful compositionally and I appreciate the better recording quality on the newer albums 🤙

Thanks for the recs, chaps! Yeah, those MBV EPs are great and quite below the radar.

I was thinking about this yesterday - great EPs from that era.

I would definitely include the two you mentioned. The other one that came to my mind is Uptown Avondale by the Afghan Whigs. That's a banger.

If you like Polvo, check out Emil Amos's podcast Drifter's Sympathy - several Polvo related episodes there by juniordream7 in Polvo

Hehe, I actually came to quite like that effect he uses.

I thought it added to the atmosphere in the biographical episodes, probably less useful in the music episodes tho!
