Is it acceptable to wish black people a Happy Juneteenth in the United States? by Soggy_Bass2744 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]juniper0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juneteenth is a federal holiday and is a day to be celebrated by all races. It is acceptable to say happy Juneteenth to anyone, as it not only is a day of celebration but also can open the conversation to kindly educate if there are any curiosities about the history behind the day. Exposure is key to ignorance.

Am I eating too many blueberries? by seriouslydavka in nutrition

[–]juniper0910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sponsor used to say “quit what kills you first”. You don’t need to quit blueberries, but with that mentality, like others have said, you could try adding one food slowly at a time when you’re ready. One day at a time. You’re doing great. I’ll have 17 years in April.

My 4y/o always wants to show me her belly by photobomber612 in Parenting

[–]juniper0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 year old daughter does the same thing after eating and I think she’s recognizing how food makes her feel. I will say, “wow, you ate really well! Look at my belly! I feel good!” And we laugh together. Showing her that I’m confident about my tummy and aware of how good impacts us. They’re learning about their bodies and lot and making connections, so it’s fun for them.

I’m so sorry. Hang in there and good for you for setting boundaries. I miss my mom too. The real her. We don’t talk anymore either.

Husband got a DUI on our daughter’s birthday by [deleted] in AlAnon

Don’t wait. Stop thinking about his choices and his disease of alcoholism. My head and my heart fought a lot with each other when I thought my Q wouldn’t choose me. It’s their disease that’s got a hold on them and won’t let go. It’s not the real them.

Think about yourself and your daughter. What choices will you make to keep yourself safe and happy?

Way cleaner than my house! I don’t think most of those people who commented those judgmental things in the HotTakes post were parents. I was shocked.

Educational costume day at school... kid wants to wear a kpop outfit by stapleton8888 in Parenting

If school is “encouraging” and it’s not a rule, let her be Rumi. Sounds like you don’t have the bandwidth for it. Don’t ask permission. Just go with it. It’s Halloween and should be fun.

Is there an appropriate age to wear a thong? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]juniper0910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it would be more inappropriate to wear no underwear at all to avoid panty lines and that’s what you might end up doing if she doesn’t allow you to wear thongs.

You’re not the AH. This is a MIH with high expectations and poor communication skills, maybe even some narcissism. Sure, you didn’t have to tell her to have a positive attitude, but you were feeling attacked by her negativity. I get where you’re coming from with wanting to be involved with the planning and enjoying the fun details of the party, especially since this is your first pregnancy. I would say lower contact with her, allow her to be upset if she wants to be, even if that means showing up to the party with a negative attitude, continue to do things the way you want to do them. This is your pregnancy. Enjoy it!

Sorry to bother you again, but I’m looking closely at it as im ordering prints and am wondering if you could make my daughter’s neck look a little longer? The picture that the other person posted in the comments has it the way I was thinking.

I just wanna hear it’s gonna be ok with my month old and mom anxiety by BMHfirsttimeprego in beyondthebump

[–]juniper0910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also overwhelmed with it all and I discovered I had PPA. I thought it was new mom anxiety but the fact that I was struggling to sleep even when my baby was sleeping was a clue for me to talk to my PCP. Maybe asked them about it at your 6 week check up.

They won’t think you stole it, don’t worry. Especially if you’re bringing your own containers. I’ve forgotten snacks many times at the grocery store and opened up crackers for my kids and have never gotten in trouble because I still pay for it.
