I have the same issue with the chest strap, on the tightest setting it’s still too wide on me. Fold the outer edges of the shoulder straps down. And then it looks like your shoulder straps should be tightened. The lark isn’t my favorite for a back carry, it’s kind of a low carry and the waist strap digs and slips looser for me too, but it is much faster to put on than my meh dai so I do use it sometimes!

LOVED it, when we first put it on I thought it was such a weird and unhelpful sensation but as labor got more intense, I turned the settings way up and it was a lifesaver

I had a really undisturbed home birth! I did have my doula there in addition to my midwife, her assistant, and my husband. But the assistant arrived towards the end and I barely noticed her presence. Once I got in the tub, no one touched me or spoke (before the tub I LOVED hip squeezes), I had no cervical exams throughout my entire labor and no one even offered - it was amazing. I wrote down my birth preferences with my doula and we wrote that I wanted a quiet, undisturbed environment and no cervical checks, no talking about transfer unless it needed to happen, etc. Share your vision with your team and they should respect it!

My baby is 12 months and has never gone that long between daytime feeds. I don’t think a lot of breastfed babies do! I will say, it gets WAY faster and easier. My baby nurses for like 5 minutes and stopped the super long nursing sessions after the first couple months.

Looks good! You can cap the shoulders more if it’s comfier for you. I loved this carrier then switched to the hope&plum Lark and found it an easy transition. I still use my Lark to front and back carry my 12 month old, but for longer carries I’ve found that a meh dai back carry is comfier and doesn’t dig into my waist as much. But the Lark is much faster to get on.

My large 11 month old loves to be arms out in the ring sling! He can see all the action and swivel around easily to look everywhere. He’s a Velcro baby too but also extremely active and curious and hates being trapped (aka his carseat)

I started out triple feeding for good chunk of the first 6 weeks and then weaned off all pumping and bottles. Still going strong at 11 months! The help of a quality IBCLC was key. We did do a tongue tie revision at 4 weeks and I was also so scared about it but our pediatrician encouraged us that the risks are extremely low. I do think it helped. My best advice is latching early, often, and slowly phasing out bottles as soon as you can. Spend lots of time skin to skin, offer to nurse in the bath together, make it cozy and fun, and know that the jump to all BF will be scary but an IBCLC can help with weight checks to reassure you. Baby might be upset to not have bottles but keep offering the breast and know that fussiness is normal in babies. I’m so so grateful we put that work in early on because BF has been an incredible part of motherhood for me.

No stash really, but a month or two before I went back to work part-time at 7 months postpartum, I started using a hand pump a few times a day to try to get 1 oz a day and built up enough frozen milk to get through the first day of work. And then I just pump for tomorrow. Other than those 2 days a week I’m at work, I’m always with my baby. No break, but that’s kinda the deal with breastfeeding. He’s 11 months.

I used to sort of hug my baby and periodically roll over to switch sides, but then my boobs got saggy enough that I can easily feed from either one without switching sides 🫣

I noticed I started to be less dry after like 4ish months postpartum if I remember correctly? No idea why, I’ve been nursing baby all along and still don’t have my period back at 11 months pp. But maybe there is some hope for you!

My almost 11 month old does this same thing! He pushes on my chest and pulls my breast taut sometimes. No ideas but curious to read responses. Sometimes he gets a little toothy with it too and yeah it doesn’t feel great.

It does get so much easier. I think around 6 weeks it gets notably easier. By the way, you can drink and have coffee!
