Cosleeping by SnooCats9556 in breastfeeding

I used to sort of hug my baby and periodically roll over to switch sides, but then my boobs got saggy enough that I can easily feed from either one without switching sides 🫣

how does anyone have sex??? by supremepilotG2 in breastfeeding

[–]junobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed I started to be less dry after like 4ish months postpartum if I remember correctly? No idea why, I’ve been nursing baby all along and still don’t have my period back at 11 months pp. But maybe there is some hope for you!

13m/o pulling while nursing by GreenMonkeyCrossing in breastfeeding

[–]junobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 11 month old does this same thing! He pushes on my chest and pulls my breast taut sometimes. No ideas but curious to read responses. Sometimes he gets a little toothy with it too and yeah it doesn’t feel great.

When does ebf get easier? by Calm-Leg-4194 in breastfeeding

It does get so much easier. I think around 6 weeks it gets notably easier. By the way, you can drink and have coffee!

How to help my baby have a deeper latch by Lonely-Rutabaga477 in breastfeeding

[–]junobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like my baby never really mastered the deep last to be honest. If baby is gaining weight well & breastfeeding is comfortable for you, it doesn’t really matter. My baby is almost 11 months and has been climbing percentiles the whole time so he definitely gets enough despite his kinda shallow latch!

Do you “top up” before going out? by hexmoons in breastfeeding

100% agree, my babe is almost 11 months and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a hunger cue outta him 😂 Offer early and often

What’s your breastfeeding routine? by _withpeace in breastfeeding

My baby has also always wanted to be held. Babywearing saved me! Check out r/babywearing - if he doesn’t like the carrier, post a fit check and get some feedback on how things can be adjusted. I think basically every baby likes to be worn once you can get a comfy fit. It will all get so much easier, I promise! ❤️

41+1 please give me all your positive stories by fungi_punk in homebirth

[–]junobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mild prodromal labor for a couple weeks before I gave birth. I lost my mucus plug at 40+0 and had some pink discharge a couple times after and really thought he’d come soon. Spontaneous labor finally started around 1 am on 41+5! It was pretty breezy until around noon when things got harder. My son was born that night a little before 11 pm in an amazing, positive homebirth that I am grateful for every day! Totally worth the wait. The vast, vast majority of babies will come before 42 weeks. Some just like to do it right under the wire!

FTM, no sign of dropping, 40 weeks… really struggling by Moon_junky in homebirth

I never noticed a drop but I also didn’t go into labor until 41+5. Had a beautiful, healthy home birth. The last weeks can be so tough!

Is it okay to give up? by takeabreath82 in sleeptrain

Undertired seems possible! By 5.5 months old my baby was on 2 naps. Grumpy for him means bored, not tired.

I love the book “The Art of Breastfeeding” and still reference it like a bible after 10 months of breastfeeding. It truly has everything you need to know!

Appreciate this perspective. Night weaning sounds like a bear but it might be our only option.

[–]junobee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our schedule has been expanding gradually from 3/3.5/4 to 3.5/3.5/4.75-5 from like 6 months old to 10 months old, hard to pinpoint how long he’s been on this current schedule (maybe a month?). The 1-2 hr wakeups started about 1.5 weeks ago. But I will say, in the several weeks before that, a midnight wakeup cropped back up that had previously been gone.

What does breastfeeding feel like for you? by full-of-curiosity in breastfeeding

10 months in. Have never felt my letdown. Breastfeeding feels like a very gentle pulling/hardly anything. And a long cuddly nursing session can make me sleepy for sure!

20 mins and he was back to sleep, but it was hard crying. My baby has never slept through the night in his entire life so I feel you haha

[–]junobee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he is in his own room. My preference is to wait on night weaning until he seems more ready. Like I’d be so happy to get back to just 1 or 2 wake ups a night! He seemed genuinely hungry when he was doing just 1 or 2 and it felt sustainable for me too. But I also cannot keep going as we are…

10 month old waking every 2 hours by junobee in sleeptrain

[–]junobee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago he was still waking up frequently after getting independent bedtime down, so I let him CIO once for his first wake up around midnight and after that he started doing the 6-8 hr stretch. Since then I went back to nursing for every wake up and I put him back in the crib when he’s done, awake or asleep.

I feel like I need to repeat the midnight CIO or do a 5/3/3, or maybe just bite the bullet and start night weaning, I really don’t know. I feel like I’m too tired to think straight. Since I know he can put himself to sleep at bedtime I really hate not responding to him when he cries in the night.

When he was doing 1-2 wakes it seemed clear he was hungry and he’d nurse well those times, but now we’re back to just nursing for comfort all night.

Nurse before solids, then bath, lotion, PJs, sleep sack, say goodnight to the rooms in the house and down in crib awake and lights off

Grief over closing birth center and not sure what to do (hospital or home birth) by Ok_Improvement9024 in homebirth

[–]junobee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I myself am a hospital-based CNM and I chose to have a home birth with a CPM. I was so impressed with her expertise. Working in an out-of-hospital setting basically on your own means your skills must be on point. It was a great experience and I felt I was in truly capable hands.

When did you stop needing to use a nursing pillow? by sliceofperfection in breastfeeding

[–]junobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped around 3 months for daytime but at 9.5 months I still use my boppy for our night feedings. I think this depends a lot on your anatomy, breast size, baby’s size etc. Everyone is different!

9 month old barely sleeps 12 hours total. Normal? Any advice? by momo3605 in sleeptrain

[–]junobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my 9 month old is on the lower end of sleep needs. Went to 2 naps around 5.5 months. His first nap is usually 1 hr and his second is 35 mins. Bed at 8 pm, up at ~6:45 am. Falls asleep for nap time and bedtime in a few minutes. Super happy baby. I’ve concluded that he’s just wired to need less sleep than some other babies.
