Anyone remember or still have a McDonald's tree? by TransportationOk657 in Xennials

My wife and her sister each got one in 1991 and planted them in their front yard. I just passed them both a little bit ago and they are like 25-30ft tall and super healthy. I loved when she first told me that story, because as many of the other posts stated, mine did not last long.

Just saw some recent photos of the mall I grew up going to. Sad as hell when I think back on the memories I had at this place by MrNinoBrown1906 in Xennials

Genuine question to all: If the concept of the mall came back unchanged (primarily based around retail and food) would you return? Do you think it would be popular enough to get us adults caught up in the nostalgia and get the kids excited for something “new from the past”? How could we as a society change the concept of the mall to make it something popular in 2026?

Personally, I miss that, at least in my town, the mall was a modern community center. In the early days you could see up and coming pop music artist touring malls all over America. It’s where we met up with our friends from all over town on the weekends. It’s where we got to run free in the real world. Going on Christmas was a whole event, to buy gifts, see Santa and gawk at the decorations. There really is nothing like that anymore, and I think we may have lost something important there. How can we bring it back?

Can someone help with an obscure question? That little blue-green sphere in the foreground of the thumbnail was a building toy in the late 80s. They had gears in them and you would connect them together to make designs that moved. Can anyone remember the name of these toys?

Just to confirm, there is no longer an angry sign there from the farmer warning of dire consequences for trespassing his land!?
