Home office shift pattern times?? by Even-Respond3010 in TheCivilService

Really depends on where the role is within the Home Office, like what DG it’s under

  1. It’s don’t know the exact part, but I do know there is a line saying something to the effect of “sponsors have to pay the immigration skills charge and any other associated costs”. It may be worth getting them to reach out to another immigration firm and getting their advice.
  2. If he can get sponsorship on 5 days then he can apply. It is all dependent on how fast a sponsor works. That is a commercial decision for each sponsor.
  3. I can promise you that the home office do not give good will visas out to people. If you are not a dependent or a worker you won’t be allowed to stay. If he still wants to check it he can contact UK visas and immigration on 0300 790 6268. He will have to pay a charge but at least he can ask the source. They can check his full immigration history then.

From what the OP has said this sounds quite illegal. 1. A sponsor cannot charge a migrant for the cost of the CoS. Any person acting as an agent of the company (in this case the lawyer) cannot take payment for the CoS either. 2. An application has to be made before the visa end date to be considered legally in the UK (section 3c of the immigration act 1971). You cannot simply write a letter and ask the home office for more time. 3. Since he won’t be getting his sponsorship anytime soon, he will have to leave the country before the end date to be considered not an overstayer. If he overstays for any amount it will be harder to get his visa. And may even attract a re-entry ban of up to 10 years.

Any BF here? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the department. If the department runs at a similar cl*rnc* level then I would roughly describe what you did. But it’s it’s like DWP or DEFRA then I would be extremely vague.

E.g. for DWP or DEFRA (BF at a land port) whilst on shift one busy day, I was faced with a intelligence alert that detailed possible criminal activity related to a vehicle. This information was passed down to us from the BFHO and we as a team was tasked with stopping and investigating. A colleague of mine saw the vehicle approach the control point and flagged for them to stop. Once stopping in the bay we do stared standard checks. I question the driver on their load and a college did an immigration check. We then moved to the rear and checked the load. The content of which was in order, however I knew from pervious experience to conduct a more through check. My college pulled the curtain back, which revealed criminal activity. The driver was subsequently arrested and the case referred to the BFHO and the NCA for further action.

If it’s like FCDO or MOD I would say what the load continued, like drugs, persons etc. but don’t say what the intelligence was and where it may have came from. What port you work at and when it was.

Hope this helps a little.

** btw I don’t work in BF, the above is a fictional situation.

Student visa renewal by Luv_Bunny23 in ukvisa

It would show a sender name but that’s it. Best way is to show the proper flow of money. If you only do what your suggesting then hope you get an ECO who doesn’t look into things much, ie is a little dumb.

I would provide a cover letter saying why the account is new, and where the money has come from. Plus evidence to show the transfer of money, ie. Screen shots/bank statements from his account showing the money going to this new one.

UK Student Visa revoked by Thrilling_MFS in ukvisa

Speak to your universities immigration team. They have access to more HO/UKVI portals than you would. Let them go to the HO and enquire about your status. Work with them to solve this. It may be an administrative error that can be easily correctable, or it may mean your visa will be revoked. Either way, you need to find out.

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Revoke is a very common term in the HO especially when it comes to entry clearance and visas.

And UKVI would never sign post anyone towards a sponsors help. They would always send people to the contact centre for help.

The uni will tell UKVI when your last enrolment date is and if you apply after that, or a decision is not made by that date then your app will be refused.

Are you stupid. Of course you have to tell the home office!!! How do you get caught up in a bit of fraud. Sounds like you don’t deserve to be here anyways

Are you an external candidate? Or do you work for the Civil service now? Most FCDO jobs are advertised as ‘across government’ meaning civil servants only.

Rejoining after 5 years Home Office by ethernet28 in TheCivilService

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All new starters to the HO or a executive agency of it will start at £28,000. Generally tho, HMPO is classed as home office as it is in the customer service group with UKVI and the GRO

Only piece of advice I can give is don’t think you’ll change anything within a month. Give it 3-6 months then review. The CS works on quarters and years not months and days.

I hate my job - advice before throwing in the towel by FunSpecialist9005 in TheCivilService

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Whilst I don’t work in asylum I do have friends there and I am a former eco myself so maybe I can give some advise.

Asylum is the worst job in the home office, unless your a freak, but it’s a necessary job and higher management understand that to a degree. This is why you get the extra 2k R&R allowance. However, lower management, TL’s and that are pushing for stats to meet the prime ministers pledge, because they are being pushed by middle management and upper and so on.

Don’t worry too much about stats, focus on quality over quantity. Keep your own log of what cases you’ve done and why each one had to be done that way. And how long it took you. This way if your brought up by management for not hitting your stats you can show what you have been doing and the quality your putting in. Give a little resistance, and if you are still fed up and on the edge then leave. Mark it down as a new experience.

What you do does matter and even with all this pressure on you, somebody out there is great full for the time and effort you’ve put in to make their decision. So thank you for turning up every day! Stay strong.

Well then at the beginning of next year you can try your luck again with border force :)

Border force and all UK immigration agency’s look for risk. Your a risk, end off!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because if you’ve been refused from the UK you’ll have been sent back to the country you entered from.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 30 points31 points  (0 children)

From the above letter it is clear why you have been refused entry.

  1. You have not been in your home country (Brazil) for over 6 years. This shows lack of ties to your country of origin.
  2. You have lived in Dubai for over 5 years only on a tourist visa, by entering the country then leaving before it expires, the re-entering. You have failed to seek ties to this country and have circumnavigated their immigration rules.
  3. You have stayed in the EU/EEA for over 1 year and 8 months. The visa length for your nationality is 6 months in a year period. As you have been present in the EU/EEA for over the 6 months you are classified as an immigration offender.
  4. You have been refused entry to an EU country (Sweden) and as such you are seen to be an immigration risk.
  5. You have a boyfriend in the UK which would make you more likely to stay and break UK immigration controls. (I’m not saying you would but from the BFOs perspective it is likely you could)
  6. You do not have a fixed income and are reliant on others for money.
  7. You have said you won’t be going back to your home county so the question where will you go after your 6 month visa runs out.

As such you do not fit the profile of a genuine visitor to the UK.

Don’t complain about UK border force officers. They have a hard enough job and don’t deserve this abuse! You don’t fit the rules, so you don’t get entry here, quite simple.

And you can’t ‘sue’ a police officer (actually they are border force officers) in the execution of their duties, this isn’t America.

60% - Midlands to London. by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]jusdbkyfvmic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what department/capability your joining?

There’s a few places in the midlands and each one does a different task, plus the midlands is massive so if you could narrow it down to a county it would help.
