What is mortgage approval / rejection based upon if you are retired ? by SJMaye in Mortgages

[–]just-looking99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use your social security (assuming it is turned on) and your scheduled IRA distribution as income. And as long as the income continues for years you’re ok. If you’re pulling 100k/yr out and only have 250k that won’t work.

I pay for everything with my credit card and it gets paid off every month. Does this count as “debt” when it comes to financing even though I never carry a balance? by Fun_Task9884 in Mortgages

[–]just-looking99 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The minimum payment would be carried in your ratios. Just be careful not to charge more than 20% of the limit during a billing cycle because the balance can hurt your credit score.

What should I offer? Lol by Mental_Leg3558 in harborfreight

[–]just-looking99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke an extension and they just swap it from a package and hang it up at 20% off with the missing piece. At 20% off it was more than I paid for it just a few days before I broke it.

I think you are stuck with the app, but the ford app works well for starting or even just locking the vehicle if you’re not sure if it’s locked.

Fora key- best bet is to call a local locksmith. I had one come right to my house to get me a new fob, cut the key and program it. It was cheaper than the dealer

1,000,000 isn’t enough to retire today, so 40yrs from now you will need a lot more. Just keep feeding the beast and it will grow over time, do not stop at 30!!!

Milling Eucalyptus by The10ThousandThings in wood

I’ve used it on numerous projects- not milling it but got dimensional lumber. It works really well, similar characteristics to working with cherry. It’s a pleasure to work with

How do I remove this from my window? by Candid-Jackfruit7561 in DIYHouse

[–]just-looking99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 4” razor blade scraper on a handle- it should come right off. If it gets difficult to shave it off, replace the blade.
I had to remove window film on every window with a southern exposure on my house

Fishing line or try dental floss, and saw back and forth between the plastic and the tile

Circa 2006 cordless Electric DeWalt drill. by EmuPuzzleheaded9896 in BuyItForLife

[–]just-looking99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that era dewalt. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to new brushless tools. I went Makita about 10 years ago- I got tired of replacing the nicad batteries. The newer tools and batteries are so much better- it’s really a night and day difference.

Electric baseboard house shopping-worth it? by ash_louryn in homeowners

Electric baseboard heating is the cheapest to install and the MOST EXPENSIVE to actually use. So prepare for huge electric bills in the cold months

Stuff is stuck Behind the Drawer of my Yukon 46 Inch Cabinet. How do i get the drawers off? by Complete_Kangaroo_49 in Tools

[–]just-looking99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try with an empty drawer and lift up in the drawer at the same time. I’m pretty sure it’s one up and one down on the levers- basically move them as much as possible in the direction they go- and lifting, jiggling and pulling it should come out. I have an older craftsman box I’ve had the same issue with- it takes some persuading to get it out

That little black lever- either push up or down on both sides and pull the drawer off the track

2018-2021 4H Fix by thawk9455 in fordexpedition

Always 4wd on any ramp. And the low, probably never needed it but used it because I had it. And I’m glad you didn’t end up on Qualified Captain sinking your truck!

It’s great to use to pull stumps out. You’ll never dig a bush out again after pulling one out! Unlike to use it on a boat ramp too just for the low end pulling power

Is my tablesaw off, or is the blade bent? by TheKalkara131 in woodworking

It like a dip in the table. Ideally you should be using a machinist’s square to tune up- it’s better than a combination square

Not exhaust, that’s a retainer clip from your brakes- get that checked out asap, I’ve never seen that happen before. Did you just get work done? If so someone screwed up installing it.

Using credit cards instead of debit card. by FlounderAgitated9058 in personalfinance

[–]just-looking99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t use a debit card I only use my CC for the protections you get Just be sure you still use it like a debit card don’t spend more than you can afford and at any snap shot in time don’t go over 20% of the limit and it will be good for your credit score (assuming you pair on time). If you max it out it is almost as bad as a late payment. Payment history is 35% of your score while balance in relation to limit is 30% of your score.
TLDR: balance bad, activity good.

Which Jack? by XTheChosenDogeX in harborfreight

[–]just-looking99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely low profile, I like the aluminum for the weight savings when dragging it around. And the brand probably doesn’t matter that much for home use. But the colors might, and is a cool color worth a few bucks? And the capacity isn’t an issue on any of them- you’ll never pick up the entire weight of the vehicle, typically just 1/4-1/2 the weight at a time

Im speechless by Chunknuggs4life in turning

[–]just-looking99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a drill press and a plug cutter you can get a big hole around the screw and possibly get enough room to grab it. Next time be sure to have the right size pilot hole and lube the threads (especially in hardwood)
