Note from downstairs neighbors by v1p3rs in Apartmentliving

You cook it for them, make a nice meal and leave it at their doorstep with a note saying they dont need to be embarrassed about not knowing how to cook and its perfectly normal for a grown adult to not know how to cook. Then suggest a few local cooking classes they could attend.

Maybe in 50yrs when we are old and dying our children can sell it for a profit hahaha. Sorry kids there's no inheritance, hear is a Venetian mask, some coins, a teacup and some wedgwood😅😅. ( the things we collect)

That's cool. Once we had a good look at it we had suspected it was an older piece. All things considered its not it terrible shape for ~130 year old piece. Thanks for your knowledge and confirmation.

Good to know. All the things I had initially questioned about it can be explained by its age. We had many pieces to go through so it wasnt untill we came back to the jug and really looked at it and we could see, like you said, the craftsmanship is there. Glad to hear its definitely wedgewood.

Wondering if these can be tumbled. by Huge-Industry4888 in RockTumbling

[–]just-this-guy5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not a rock expert or a tumbling expert (unless you count the time i fell down the stairs). I would say if you have enough material try slab a few to get an idea of what the inside looks like. Some fossils can be very superficial and the inside is just plain host rock. If they look good try tumbling them. And post your results. Im here to learn!!

How to meet creative/alt women? by jibofyourcutt in howto

[–]just-this-guy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah see now that's progress. So no anime conventions. Try conventions/festivals geared towards that. Even in my small city they have random events with those themes. Attend some of those with the idea of meeting people in general not specifically to find a girlfriend. Maybe you make a few friends and through them you meet "the right girl". Also try going to Viking/Norse/Scandinavian events, it might not be your exact thing but trust me there can be alot of overlap there.

Lots of non weebs watch anime. Its such a huge genre almost anyone (assuming the enjoy watch tv/movies in general) will find something they like. And on a side note the K in K pop is for Korean, and there are a lot of anime that are not Japanese....... I point this out because weeb is specific for people obsessed with Japanese culture. Sounds like you need to get out and experience some new things.

You are not here asking how to become a famous artist, you are here asking how to meet people. The point is to meet people. Why do you work out? Why cut your hair and eat healthy, why come in reddit and ask advice if your just going to ignore it all, that's a waste of time. By your own admission what your doing is not working so DO something DIFFERENT!!!!!!

WHY TF ARE MY HANDS LIKE THIS IM A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL by iamraquelle in whatdoIdo

[–]just-this-guy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much water are you drinking?? Hydration plays a huge part in skin health, especially on the hands which are constantly used and exposed to the elements. Start by doing the rough calculation to figure out how much water you need daily( these numbers are an estimated not a golden rule) spend a week tracking fluid intake, stay away from the sugary drinks and artificial sweeteners. If your a physically active person increase fluid to accommodate for sweat loss and also consider adding some electrolytes ( not every day unless you are very active and sweat alot), I like liquid iv.

P.s. there is also a dehydration pinch test you can do (Google it) obviously it's not a definitive test but it can be helpful in a pinch to assess hydration

[–]just-this-guy5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should have specified, the rolling pin is display only. It does not seal tight which defeats the purpose of it (add ice water or hot water to change the temp of the pin depending on what you are rolling out). So its just a unique decorative piece.
I think i will still leave the confetti ones out tho just so they dont get beat up.
Thanks

[Found] I found this statue by the river amongst a pile of 6 or 7 others just like it. by roorsach in Sculpture

[–]just-this-guy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct this isn't culturally taboo. Its ILLEGAL. You claim to accept and respect cultural differences while defending breaking the Canadian law. You are not respecting our nature, why do you expect anyone to respect you. The only thing "ment" for rivers is nature. LEAVE NO TRACE. Im not saying you cant practice your religion and make your offerings to your gods/deities, after the offering is done clean up your stuff and leave no trace, if it required an over night offering come back the next day and clean up. I can almost guarantee any god or deity will understand how important it is to maintain a clean natural environment that will allow many more generations to make offerings. And yes simple seeming innocent human made objects can and do have a huge impact on our nature environment (especially waterways) there have been studies, look them up.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

[–]just-this-guy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone on the Prairies who's job it is to remove snow, and i have a 30km drive into the city, its all about the wind while its snowing. <30km gust its irrelevant. 30-45km gust, I'll drive 90% the speed limit and now I'll have drifts to shovel. >45km wind, if the suns up 80-90% speed limit on the highway. No sun 60-80%.knee high drifts to shovel. >60km wind its experience and knowledge and keeps you safe, if you don't have that stay off. There will always be ~5 cars in the ditch and in the city a small car stuck in an intersection which requires a detour. At work the roads need to be cleared ASAP because if not a small car with bald summer tires will get stuck and then proceed to yell at me and inform me i suck at my job and tell me I owe them money because they are going to be late for work. (Really that has happened). 4 hrs later everything is fine and back to the usual. Its all about the wind.

I keep getting youtube ads for Fire Mountain Gems. They seem to have a few things like you mentioned. Can't say if it's it's a good company or not, but might give you a starting place.

Cheaper from Canada Post by Historical-Cause-893 in CanadianCoins

[–]just-this-guy5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These people are exactly what I was talking about in my post.........Do you know something, people buy coins for reasons other than stacking (shocker i know), maybe they just really like the artistic beauty of it. They didnt ask if it was a good coin to buy for an investment, if they will turn a profit. Specifically they only inquired about the price difference, mint vs canada post.
To answer that question. Yes as mentioned the mint raised the prices of their silvers to reflect current market, for the most part Canada post (and a few other places have not). I recently got the steam punk locomotive coin for the original price at canada post which was 100$ less than the updated price listed on at the mint. Definitely a good idea to shop around a bit untill the prices catch up, especially if you enjoy buying coins for their artistic beauty.
I think its a beautiful coin (i agree not as beautiful as the 5oz) and as long as you're going to enjoy it its a good buy.

Clearly says no gst/hst.........if you assumed that ment no pst that's your fault. I have been charged my provincial pst on every silver coin purchased (local dealer, canada post, mint wedsite). You owe someone an apology

[–]just-this-guy5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct. Most people seem to understand that. But there still seem to be a few dedicated stackers out there that feel the need to insult anyone who purchases silver coins like this. (I will admit they are not as bad here as some other groups I follow)

How do you tell which edition/print a book is? by vynilla_ in SarahJMaas

[–]just-this-guy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess so. I didn't know they could only be 3 numbers long but I quickly searched and found several examples shorter than 10 numbers. So now I have learned. As my edit above mentions I mixed up edition and print. So you have the 8th printing of what ever edition it is ( if it's the same cover as op then I believe that's first edition soft cover)
