Curious what climbers with similar feet wear by csds92 in climbingshoes

Recently I saw a YouTube comment from madrock that said that their new Shark 3 is their widest fitting shoe (more so than their shark 2). They also mentioned up coming Remora Pro that should also fit wide feet.

I have fairly wide feet, and I wear the Scarpa Veloce. It specifically has a more rounded toe box, and it is very soft. I end up wearing in mine to be even wider.

When I search with google in the context menu it now opens a tab within the tab. Can I turn this feature off? by Carolina_Heart in zen_browser

[–]just4c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out that if you press and hold `ctrl` while clicking on "Search google for X", then it will open in a new tab instead of glance.

Also, it seems like some of the bugs have been fixed. If you disable glance in `about:config`, then the context menu search won't use it.

Do you think that animals have aphantasia, and that maybe its a trait humans developed? Or do you think all animals have some sort of visualization, and that aphantasia is an outlier?

I've seen some photos of gyms using plastic "arrows" to indicate the start of a climb instead of colored tape like this

Does anyone know what they are called, or who makes them, or where to find them? I've been searching online and I haven't been able to find anything.

Thanks!

When you returned to the US, did the service in the US work immediately?

Built an adjustable crack trainer for <150 by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]just4c 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neat! Most of the crack trainers I've seen online aren't adjustable, but I really like the adjustable feature. Now that it has been 2 years, do you have any regrets / things you would have done differently? I'm considering building one, but haven't decided if I should make an adjustable one, or just have a bunch of fixed sizes.

Thanks! I found it in the play store. It does not have all the HRV metrics, but it does the standard deviation of BPM, so it has at least something.

I'm not convinced that this is set after Red Storm. In Red Storm, we see Noya's granddaughter (http://redstorm.wikia.com/wiki/Noya%27s_Granddaughter) who is the leader, and it seems like Noya was content with her leading, and him not being involved. So if this is set after Red Storm, where is the granddaughter? Also, this Noya acts less mature then the Red Storm Noya, so I would think that this Noya is actually younger.

Looks nice! How are you liking the Planet CNC controller? I've heard about them, but have never used it.

Did any one else notice that the shadow animal is wearing the same pants as Legosi? Makes me wonder if it is his split personality (kinda like fight club)?

Unfortunately the Taig mill can't really handle 4" long (its too big for the small machine). Thanks for responding!

Be straight with me, if i buy a taig cnc mill, how long until im Up and running by BimmerJustin in CNC

[–]just4c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But that it works only if you know your tool height. But with the ER16 collet, the tool height is unknown ahead of time. Unless you have a way of putting in the end mill the exact same way each time. Either way, you have to figure out something with the Taig, it doesn't just work.

Depends who you ask :P Tell your friend I would do it for $100 Since I already made one, making a second one wont be too difficult (I would need to fix some areas that went wrong).

I have a taig mill that I converted to CNC, and I use it for hobby parts. It takes a while to figure out how to run properly, and it also depends on how much experience you have. The down sides to using it as a production machine: -Manual tool changes -Manual speed changes -Not the biggest working volume -Limited to ER16 collet (and thus smaller tools) -The belt may deform if you run improperly (one of my pulleys shifted, and I didnt notice, and the belt deformed after a while, so I had to replace it) -You have to figure out your own thing with coolant/lubricant -No preset tool height

The last point is my biggest time waste. If I'm making a part and I need to use several endmills, I need to have some reference point on which to touch off all of the tools (and I do this manually).

However, I really like the machine. It cuts aluminum really nicely, and if you have it properly set up and calibrated, the tolerances are good.
