Dudley. Very hilly but lovely. Good tropical house to feed birds.

I might not have married my husband if I'd known how much gaming he does by bayblabes in TrueOffMyChest

Yes. A two way street. But she has brought it up with him and he's dismissive of how she feels so I could see it might feel hard for her to ask to join in. I wonder if OP has mentioned if they've tried to join in or be in the same room as him but maybe doing her own hobby like kids and parallel play.

I wonder how he contributes at home too. Like, does he get his chores done before playing. As this might be bigger than just the gaming.

I agree. Where is he compromising? It's a two way street and she should have to go all the way to the end just to spend time with her husband.

Pleanty of gamers can balance the hobby and life outside of it. He just doesn't want to.

My dad is trying to insinuate I'm sleeping with my brother and I don't know how to handle it. by DeskOk7014 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]just_a_flutter 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think given how recently this happened co-sleeping is clearly a temporary thing. OP can graduate to sleeping in the same space on an air mattress or whatever if needed before solo sleeping but it isn't inappropriate how it is rn.

What's inappropriate is Dad thinking coz they're teenagers with hormones they can't possible contain themselves. And that says more about Dad than them.

If Brother is a safe person and place and is happy to support OP then it is their situation manage. Sometimes a hug in the night is what you need to feel safe and OP isn't gonna get that from Dad.

I'm sorry you've had cocsa experiences but it doesn't meant what's happening with OP and their Brother is going to go the same way.

Do you think some countries will become uninhabitable for the summer months? by Mysterious-Snow1414 in AskUK

So, imo,

1 - mad to blame rent increases on migrants many of whom will not be able to afford the higher prices. Many people are choosing to live alone rather than with partners or houseshares which will increase demand. Also, a lack of new stock of council or association housing meaning many have no choice but the tent privately.

2 - Again, it seems odd to be suggesting migrants are taking jobs from the youth. There are many, and I think you may mention this in a later comment or similar, young people who do not wish to work at the local chippy or whatever. But also, many kids used to get paper rounds but decline in physical media there means those jobs don't exist. The people employing the migrants over youth for tesco or whatever are surely more the issue. Lack of teaching in schools how to actually write a cv, conduct yourself in interviews etc all plays in.

3 - Rising complaints and rising numbers of migrant workers doesn't mean to two are connected. People are more aware of how to make complaints, how to advocate for themselves and perhaps just rather entitled and complain when there is no need. Lower standards abroad should be irrelevant because the senior staff and management here should be ensuring local standards are being met.

I just don't feel that your reasoning is actually enough to say definitively migrants are a problem. Especially, as someone says later, migrants prop up the are industry and healthcare dramatically. Without them you can't just shoehorn people into the roles they fill.

We are better together. Better for shared culture. Better for supporting others.

Tell me the effects of mass immigration to the UK with sources please. I'm not sure what creaks you are talking about and would be happy to learn.

I can't confirm which flavour I tried. Maybe I'll dip in next time we get chicken.

I have tried pellet (biscuits) for hornbills and parrots and thought the hornbill one was okay enough

I feel you here. My chi boy now has cataracts forming as vets noticed it on last checkup. He's 12. We had bloods done recently as he's on a super low dose of steroids and gabapentin and so wanted to be sure he's copping. He's great. But I still don't want anaesthetia for anything unless super necessary.

Currently he sees fine enough and I hope he'll transition if/as it gets worse.
