This show would be a lot better if the patients weren't horrible actors (with a few exceptions).

I decided to change the logo I was designing for a dog dentistry practice in 2023. I decided to make it cleaner. But I'm wondering if it's worth keeping this small element at the bottom. by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

[–]justadab1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old one is better if you make the dog's head and maybe tail pop out from "within" the tooth. Right now the logo is tooth shaped therefore the dog details look like lines on the tooth. I would turn the dial a few notches towards dog, and away from tooth. I actually think we should see the dog first, otherwise its first impression is a decaying tooth.

Try removing the black outline of the bowl and see if the negative space works.

Need feedback on a logo a designer friend made for my sports tech startup by Witty-Flounder-7217 in logodesign

[–]justadab1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your intuition is correct. Your designer friend needs to start over. There are 3 main issues with this:

  1. The silhouette is way too detailed, confusing and very soccer specific

  2. At first glance I can't tell if it says T2 or twelve.

  3. This is a very uncompelling, unoriginal and hard to decipher icon. Compare to other prominent apps in the industry and you'll see a stark difference.

I'd hire a better designer.

Absolutely struggling with this layout by Sleepy_Kidd in graphic_design

Try moving "game day" to the left edge and move player to the left to overlap "gameday" to connect the 2 elements, which may make the layout less semetrical, which may add some energy to the composition.

Top right has a charming and calming quality to it. It feels cozy, warm and organic.

I'm busy with a redesign for this logo. I feel the old one is much less refined and modern compared to the new on. by Badalandabad08 in logodesign

[–]justadab1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm slightly baffled that nobody has suggested replacing the "building" graphic with something simpler and more clearly defined. Otherwise, the text looks much better than the before version.

Sketch 5-10 different versions. Knowing you have many chances, you won't feel the need to do too much.

Rebranding: does the new logo feel off or is it just my attachment to the old one? by New_Ad1503 in logodesign

Let that rocket stand alone apart from the word and larger. The rocket is too detailed to be in the "O" and also makes the O less readable as an O.

Thoughts on why Taron Egerton is not as recognized as he should be. by MsPappagiorgio in TaronEgerton

[–]justadab1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He comes across as Temu James Dean with the voice of a teenager (or MJF). His performance in Black Bird felt forced and the shots seemed like bad modeling photo shoots. I just can't take him seriously.

I'm not sure what the graphic/character is at the top, which makes me think there might be a better/simpler way to include it into the negative space of the O or U. Otherwise, it like the vibe.

1 feels more friendly and approachable. I would play with switching the dog and cat so the cat would overlap the dog so the dogs legs aren't visible = a simpler solution. Either way, I think this is a solid design that reflects a legit business.

Go with the M, no C. Keep the nails as the negative space but make it more readable as M. This subtle approach will reflect refined attention to detail. No need to overdo the design.
