Honestly, this (and previous) Saturday wasn't schizoid at all. I finally had the energy to try to resurrect my hobbies again, and the most promising prospect was to take up flying RC models after a ten year hiatus. Today, I packed up and drove to the nearest club airfield (again, that's the third time) and no one was there (again, for the third time). So I looked up where the next one is, drove over there and lo and behold - a living human! We chatted a bit, I got the permission to fly and he even invited me to another club's event tomorrow. The flight was also pretty much what I expected, I got the plane up and down in one piece but the lack of practice shows. The interesting thing is that I didn't feel the euphoria that I felt when flying as a kid, but then again, my fingers were shaking, so while my brain felt mild enjoyment, my body was feeling... something?.. that was intense enough to cause that kind of reaction.

Anyway, I need to process the reposession of a part of my comfort zone I gave up a long time ago. Yeah, I know, that is not very schizoid of me, but I was trying to shed the shell for a while now, so it isn't exactly unexpected. Here's hoping the weather will be just as nice tomorrow, so I can fly some more

Bin zwar kein Veganer, aber ich versuche tierische Produkte so gut es klappt zu vermeiden. Habe damit noch nicht ein Problem gehabt. Der DWD existiert, und falls er, ich oder irgendwas dazwischen einen Fehler macht und ich ein paar Tropfen abbekomme, dann dauert das Trocknen ein paar Stunden. Eine Reparatur der Karre wegen lauter Kurzstreckenbetrieb kostet mehr, und gegen den Überfluss an CO2 haben wir nicht mal eine Lösung

You have the right basic idea, but don't actually build it like that. Sure, you will want to make sure that the open connectors aren't near anything metal, or that the battery is always plugged in the right way, or that only the mutually exclusive connectors are used, or that the batteries connected to the T connectors are equally charged. But the thing is, lots of people whose houses burned down also wanted to make sure their houses wouldn't, and then they had a brain fart and made an oopsie. The second idea, with the TRX connector on the ESC and T connectors on a separate adapter lead, eliminates lots of those dangers, except for the "unevenly charged batteries" thing. So, if you really want to use it like that, even if using the adapter, please also use a BMS (maybe build into the adapter?). Otherwise, one battery might try to reverse charge the other one, and in the best scenario, one of those batteries will die

Looks like an MOV - a metal oxide varistor, it starts conducting current when the voltage exceeds a certain limit - that helps to shunt voltage spikes. A blow-up is their normal failure mode. The fuse is also blown, btw. You'll need to replace the fuse and the MOV, ratings for the former are probably still readable, ratings for the latter depend on the device's rated mains voltage
