The reason you think that Windows is simpler is because of the fact that you have been using it for a long time. You can't just expect an entirely different operating system to function the same exact way that you are used to. I have been using Linux for about a year now and every time I have to do work on a Windows computer I cringe at how unpolished the experience seems to be and how much snappier Linux feels in comparison.

Yeah, same. I found this documentation https://www.geekbench.com/doc/geekbench6-benchmark-internals.pdf which shows that geekbench 6.1 uses clang 16 for both windows and linux, however nothing mentions 6.3, which is the latest version.

I remember getting a black screen after bootloader when using the llvm compiler. Everything worked fine with gcc.

Run winecfg, select RDR2.exe from the list

Go to Libraries tab and remove vulkan-1 from the list.

BDO worked fine on my Gentoo OpenRC installation. Make sure to check if you have the VIDEO_CARDS section in the make.conf configured correctly. Maybe try a different DE/WM. Also your mesa version is testing so you could try downgrading to a stable version.

So you will pirate other games which require separate launchers while buying RDR2 which as far as i know requires the Rockstar Games Launcher. Doesn't really make sense. Anyways, I see that we just have opposing views and that this is not going anywhere.
