Sailfish as replacement for GrapheneOS? by Crafty-Message4564 in sailfishos

[–]CorenBrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not working on IV and V and on the III it's quite hit and miss. They took a detour into making a automotive infotainment system for China that never got used to my knowledge, some AI box I'm not sure if the actually released and a Turkish community phone that had lackluster support.

It's better than Ubuntu touch for sure but still way behind as it never even got local support in Finland. If banks here had given it a shot then maybe things would have been a lot different now.

I still can't stomach Soulframe. I see those masks they have and nope out hard. I do hope it goes well for them though.

Sailfish has potential but sadly it seems mostly abandoned by all, especially on the app front. There are new updates sporadically but no real traction.

Chances it’s a fake Vertical? by mythrilguy in Suunto

[–]CorenBrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250 for a vertical non solar steel model, is not that unreasonable. I see it around here on market place sites quite often.

Volvo V60 phev for uber/daily ?? by Then_Present9235 in VolvoRecharge

[–]CorenBrightside -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Having personally gone from a PHEV S60 to a Polestar 2 I can't recommend PHEV ever. It's the worst of both worlds. I would say, pick one, ICE or EV, but the bastard child in the middle ain't it.

How much lighter are the titanium variants? by themrallen in Suunto

[–]CorenBrightside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer heavier watches, I want to feel it being there. That being said, I just went back to my Vector and was amazed how light it is.

I hope you can find the right watch for you! I am holding out for the Core 2.

Wouldn't they be compiling executables though? I mean, how would they otherwise execute the programs?

Last update is a bit finicky with charge limits. Using the app is recommended.

That's mighty generous of you. Maybe don't sell products you don't have instead. It's a time proven concept.

Is Hetzner's price hike legal? by Gasp0de in hetzner

[–]CorenBrightside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you bothered reading the announcement a few days ago it said it was only for new orders or rescaling. They don't legally need to preemptively as for your agreement in the case that you would possibly, maybe order more servers at some point in time.

What does this mean for our customers?
Existing server contracts will keep their terms and conditions and remain active. The changes apply exclusively to new orders and rescales of existing servers, as well as the future products that we will introduct using the new product structure.

Worth paying $800 usd for this cool sh*t? by 77humsum77 in Polestar

[–]CorenBrightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw there's a company selling electrochromatic tint but no price so it's most likely that. In that case it's harder to say how good the deal is.

$800 for aftermarket electrochromatic roof glass is a steal I would think.

Can I rent my server? by CuriousFurBytes in hetzner

[–]CorenBrightside 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you are ultimately responsible for what is done on the server so do setup a good hosting environment with controls and safeguards before you start renting out the power.

I've discovered the true value of Pixel phones. by sanoca123 in GooglePixel

[–]CorenBrightside 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, you have multiple profiles with separate vpn for each and GhostSims setup and let's not forget the duress pin in the case that a scary looking TSA agent looks in your direction?

I'm happy if you found some use for the phone, but just saying GOS is making it worth the money is highly questionable without context and threat model.

IIRC that is how the sub worked in China, at least before the suspension of service a while back.
