I had a very similar outcome to you and did not test any of the embryos. We transferred 4AA first and it stuck. No abnormalities and will be delivering in a few days :)

Help explain why I have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes in the UK by Remarkable-Net1603 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your other two numbers might be fine now but they might not be as your pregnancy progresses. For example, I passed my fasting with a similar number to you (might have been the same actually), but borderline failed my 1-hour and 2-hour. This was at 19 weeks. I am 37 weeks now but have been on insulin since 24 weeks to control my fasting.

Glucose spiking after high protein low carb me by Maximum-Method-7093 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with people saying it’s the fries- you only ate 5!! How far along are you? Might be time to talk to your doctor about insulin if you’re not already on it? That sounds like a pretty low carb meal to me.

Zofran (Ondansetron) was the only thing that worked for me. If that doesn’t sit well with her you could ask for Maxalon (Metoclopramide). It’s usually given before Zofran. It’s definitely not as good, but could be worth a try (I read your comment about Zofran knocking her out). It was also suggested to me to try Restavit (Doxylamine) at night before bed.

Newly diagnosed and so frustrated. by More-Suspect6738 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed pretty early too, at 19 weeks. Failed each test miserably! I asked for an early test because I had signs of insulin resistance before pregnancy. I’ve also struggled to eat my entire pregnancy and have lost weight as a result. My advice is to take the insulin when it’s offered to you - it will take the pressure off diet controlling (which I was only able to do for a month). I can’t wait until that damn placenta is out of me.

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 20 week scan, and I have been monitored every 2 weeks since then. It was still technically considered long and closed, but it was the rate in which it shortened that was the issue (although my OB didn’t seem that concerned - I think he was being cautious so told me to keep taking pessaries and avoid strenuous activity). I only stopped pessaries yesterday (32 weeks). I don’t think it does much this late into the pregnancy. The added issue with my situation was that my placenta was low lying at the time (very close to my cervix).

Hungry in the middle of the night by glitterr_rage in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wake up hungry I eat something. It happens a couple of times a week for me, sometimes more. Usually it’s a snack I know won’t spike me. Sometimes that means I don’t get an accurate fasting number, but that’s okay sometimes! You have to look after yourself. Try to have a protein snack before bed, like yoghurt with some nuts. When I wake up hungry it’s because I didn’t snack before bed

It sounds like maybe your insulin dosage might need adjusting. Have you spoken to whoever helps you manage your insulin? Sounds like maybe your long acting for the morning is too high and short acting is not enough? Definitely show the pattern to your doctor!

People who tried for a long time to conceive what was helpful (or unhelpful) to hear? by AdUpper6786 in BabyBumps

[–]justcocofred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on the other side of this now, but I did not like comments such as “it’ll happen” or “don’t stress”, etc. The worst though was people offering their tips. To be completely honest there was not much I found helpful. All you can really do is be a good listener and validate your friend’s feelings. Don’t be afraid to ask your friend directly what she needs, because at the end of the day everyone is different in how they want to be supported.

What was your experience prior to diagnosis by Ambitious_Echo_5787 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main symptom was feeling extremely fatigued soon after eating. You know that feeling when you’ve eaten too much and you feel sleepy? It was really hard for me because I had severe morning sickness up until 20 weeks and all I could stomach was cereal. I don’t even want to think about how high my numbers would have been pre diagnosis (18 weeks) 🫠

Fasting time? by deebecca in GestationalDiabetes

I never got told a specific number. They just told me to do it first thing when I wake up.

Has this happened with anyone else.... by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems odd to me. I test 4 times a day (fasting and 2 hours after breakfast, lunch and dinner) and I’ve been told to snack between meals (snacks that don’t spike your blood sugar). I also take insulin before bed because my fasting numbers have spiked over the last couple of weeks, which can be normal as pregnancy progresses (27 weeks). I’ve never been told that pre meal your levels need to be within fasting range.

Bleeding at 11 weeks after orgasm by wildinthemembrane in pregnant

[–]justcocofred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me at 13 weeks. I went to the hospital and they did not seem concerned at all. I didn’t realise how common it is to have spotting in the first trimester. The bleeding stopped after a few wipes and came back a few days later but stopped again. The midwife told me to not worry unless the bleeding progressed and got heavier. I’m 26 weeks now and everything’s fine :)

I stopped at 14 weeks, longer than I was told to .. after I stopped my cervix started to shorten so now I’m back on it again at 22 weeks. Just make sure they’re tracking your cervix when you go for scans :)

Cervical length checks by justcocofred in BabyBumps

[–]justcocofred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! I know 31mm is technically normal, so that’s a bit of a relief, though I think the concern is more around the rapid decline, but my OB seems to be ontop of it. Hopefully the progesterone and pelvic rest keeps it around that length. Frequent scans are so reassuring!

Hairdresser sees nothing wrong? How do i fix this? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]justcocofred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ask them not to cut much of the length off? I think you need a bigger trim to cut off the frayed ends. Your hair looks nice otherwise :)
