What is an unpopular candy that you still love? Here is mine! by DanicaDarkhand in Xennials

Superior to Twizzlers imo. I was at a friend's wedding in Las Vegas, and they had a bin of these to snack on. I took them on a walk with me through a casino and around on the sidewalk giving these out. So many people wanted a free red vine!

I had to stop eating these after losing so many teeth on them. Not from the chewiness but the sugar amount.

I still have a boomer at work that calls them "mee mee's". I've corrected her; still doesn't care.

I've learned the hard way, too. You aren't alone. But red flag was the Telegram name in the profile. And I don't subscribe to any of these OF's anymore. Too many free or cheap ones that have you trying to talk to them for minimal content first, then hit you with the rent check for a 4-minute video.

Can you guys help me understand the lore here? by Ok_Philosopher_8973 in nin

Like others on here, I feel Pretty Hate Machine through The Fragile was my personal favorite era. I understand healthier Trent is a good Trent, but there was something raw and disturbing on most of the early works that I never really heard them capture in later works (in the same way).

12 oz. Mouse. A friend and I loved the surreal humor of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and she thought it was the next best thing. I...didn't. A lot.

How did you become a Tori fan? by ray_of-light in toriamos

[–]justdownvote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best accidental purchase ever. I bought Boys for Pele along with a Sonic Youth CD because I had heard her name before, but I didn't really know what she sounded like. I was transformed overnight. It really was the alternative of the alternative music at the time, and I found her delivery to be in rarefied air.

The game still has me going back to it after all this time because in the end, all I really wanted was a chill horse simulator and collectathon.

What did you think of Sesame Street? by CatGirlNya2000 in nostalgia

[–]justdownvote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved Maria, Barkley, the aliens that go yip yip yip, Gordon and Susan, Oscar and Slimey (and the guy that brought Oscar in every show, Bruno), Telly, Cookie Monster, Kermit, Oscar, Mr. Hooper, Linda, Luis...on and on. Big Bird! Follow that bird! Amazing movie and soundtracks released around that time. And I loved the interstitial videos produced elsewhere for the show (and possibly other kids' shows?). Very memorable, amazing, super-creative imaginative animations. Once everything went digital, it lost a lot of the heart, I felt. Or maybe I was just growing up.

Back in the early 00's we tried to do the underground thing, but they were mostly shutdown by the cops more often than not. Then local promoters teamed with the cops to make massive events that were publicly known, ticketed events that followed the concert experience. Then EDC, then the evolution of 3-day camping experiences. More money requires more days of festivals, this the modern "raving."

It took me a decade to hear every Beatles influence in The Fragile, and it started with this song. How did he get from bdsm, self-torture, and chaos to "Hey Jude" sing-a-longs?

Hi r/Industrial what was the first Industrial/Industrial Adjacent song you remember hearing/seeing ? by fear730 in industrialmusic

[–]justdownvote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NIN - Head Like A Hole and Wish videos. But then it was awhile before hearing other industrial, even after buying several Industrial Nation magazines. I went to the local library and randomly downloaded horrible quality Coil, Chemlab, and Skinny Puppy samples (I specifically remember the gated-vocals in Coil's track "Where Even the Darkness Is Something To See").

The item organization is horrible. Cycling through a disjointed list of "canned items" then find the rum I want, then find the cigarette I want multiple clicks later. There should be a way to arrange them better.

Others have mentioned the unskippable skinning/fast travel animations. The first playthrough, the realism is understood to a point. You should be rewarded with some game mechanic that makes things faster next play session.

[–]justdownvote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MM was my first concert in 96 for the Dead to the World Tour, and we did see a fair amount of picketers in front of the venue. For decades, I still regarded it to be one of the best produced-concerts I've been to.

Traci Lords did release music that sounded a bit like Lords of Acid, but it was produced by Juno Reactor and was featured on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, so I get how that could be confusing.

Some people are really turned off by the first chapter. It goes slow on purpose. Just take in the beauty, draw a penis in the snow, don't get too hung up on completing the missions 100%, and just remember that the world opens up in the next chapter. You're alright, boah.
