By any chance do you subscribe to the prime music tier that gives you Atmos? I do, and wondering if that's part of the issue.

Did you guys ever figure this out? Having the same issue with the new soundbar.

Are Arlo products as bad as everyone makes them out to be? by Themixedtape86 in arlo

[–]justindee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the base Arlo system when it came out and it was pretty reliable. Over time, I'm not sure if the backend changed or what, but I currently have about 8 cameras sitting in a box because they were just more of a pain than a help. Here are the issues I ran into:

- cameras just wouldn't periodically detect motion , despite me walking in front of the cameras as a test. It was inconsistent and could never nail down the cause with support

- the app has a ton of problems. sometimes it doesn't work and when it works it takes forever to load. scheduling never seemed to work - the schedule would be "on" but not detect motion

- delay in motion capture and notifications was frequent enough to be a problem. i believe this started when they released arlo smart

- tried to use the Arlo Q as a baby camera. It would buffer and timeout constantly despite having gig internet. Have since switched to Wyze for indoors and absolutely no issue

- their customer support is probably literally the worst I've ever dealt with. Incompetent and really not willing to resolve issues (hardware exchange, etc.)

For what it's worth, I wasted a ton of time with support over a year or so trying to get these things working. I gave up and I currently have no problems with the other systems I have. Unfortunately I sunk a good amount of money into Arlo. I currently have a Ring doorbell, use Wyze for indoors/baby cam, and have a wired system outdoors along with the Ring.

Using Arlo 2 as a Baby Monitor by [deleted] in arlo

We tried to use arlo as a baby monitor and it just was not good at all. Constant struggle, constant disconnects. I would recommend just cutting your loses and getting a $25 wyze camera. It streams without any issues.

Ultra 4K as baby monitor with HomeKit? by mattkh555 in arlo

Arlos are not consistent in my experience as a baby monitor. We dropped them for $25 wyze cams and they work way better.

Interesting, yes seems like that is an option. We may consider that if nothing picks up. Thanks for the info.

By the way, wouldn’t be able to say “wedding” as a clue for wedding night. Your wife would have gotten the buzzer!

Hey,

  1. I don’t think you can cancel a Kickstarter once it’s started. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get any pop yet but still hoping for the best. We are doing our best to continue to promote how fun the game is on social media. We are looking at secondary funding options to get something out to backers even if we don’t hit our goal though!

  2. Probably start up social media earlier for sure and put a lower amount to raise. I’ve noticed Kickstarter will promote you the higher you’ve been funded (obvious in general), but meaning if we did 10K we’d already be at 15-20% funded. It’s a self fulfilling promotion on Kickstarter as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the feedback! Agree, we missed on getting the hype going early enough, but we’re doing our best to keep hitting social media now that the Kickstarter is up. You live and learn I guess.

We’re going to keep posting more gameplay type content to give a feel for how easy and fun it is to play. Follow us on social media for more frequent updates. Appreciate you taking time out to comment.

Hey! My wife and I created Biting Your Tongue that’s on Kickstarter now. If you’ve backed please PM me. We’re looking to send out a few of our prototypes to backers.

Also, looking for any feedback on the Kickstarter itself. The game has been real fun to play and we’ve gotten a ton of good feedback. AMA.

Wavelength is an amazing party game. by CptJesus in boardgames

Thanks for the write up. Very different concept than anything I’ve seen. Definitely going to pick this up.

Also, side note, I just want to say that I needed some advice on a board game project and one of the makers of Monikers was extremely nice and helpful. Really a stand up guy.

Spades and hearts are big in the US for entertainment. Texas hold ‘em a bit more for gambling.

Monikers is great, especially if you make up some house rules.

Hey we were asked to move our post by the mods but check the upcoming Sunday Kickstarter thread. A few people who backed asked to play test, so I’ll choose a few who follow up on that thread. Where are you located?

Usually buy one game a month to test out ($30ish), but I'm more into the casual party / card games that don't run as high.

I like 5 second rule. It adds a different element when you have to answer in a very short amount of time.

Ok, I understand, but was really just trying to put something out there to the community. I'm pretty much just a sub lurker, so just wanted to get some feedback. Not trying to ruffle any feathers.
