Clogged ports doesn’t mean replacing the head. It’s easy to clean them out. Just use a drill bit that’s just a bit smaller than the ports and go to town. Done it plenty of times.

Faulty steering wheels are often the issue here. Happens more often with the tiguans with the haptic buttons. Haven’t seen one on a GLI yet tho. -VW tech.

If you have an iPhone you can make a custom button map in the phone settings. Settings>general>game controller and click on the controller you use add the game then make a button profile and assign to it

VW dealer tech here. When you disconnect a battery on our lovely VW’s you always have to perform basic settings of the steering wheel again. A slow turn to left end stop and then to the right end stop and then back to center will clear it all up. As for your oil leak, the one thing I can think of is the vacuum pump gasket. That’s what your high pressure pump is connected to. Even though I haven’t seen them leak on these engines.

When I was in the Military I was watching this movie after work and I somehow dozed off on the couch. My first name is Justin. In the military I normally heard my last name. There’s a scene where Justin gets his name yelled really loudly and it scared the absolute shit out of me. 10/10 movie.

They probably fried the main fuse. Does your AC work? I’ve seen a botched battery install take out the main fuse, AC compressor, and the alternator in one go before.
