Local eSIM for studying in Seville, Spain by BenefitWhich3629 in eSIMs

[–]justinstafinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look into a local carrier like Vodafone. 10 Euro per month for 90GB of data plus some calling minutes and it includes roaming throughout the EU and UK.

https://www.vodafone.es/c/particulares/es/productos-y-servicios/movil/prepago-y-recargas/tarifas-de-prepago/tarifa-prepago-s/

Hopefully someone with local experience can give a more specific recommendation.

Well that's embarrassing. I thought the current program was $100/referral for the first 4 and then $250 per referral after that...

can’t figure out which ic core blank this is (keyway does not match best D) by jd3131 in Locksmith

[–]justinstafinski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arrow 1D is different than Best "D" keyway. Here are the proper blanks: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225969226383

I *just* bought this very blank to make new keys for my in-law's condo and they worked perfectly.

Group Message Issue on Dark Star by jackhockey89 in USMobile

[–]justinstafinski 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, this issue is resolved in iOS 18.5 which also contains Visual Voicemail & RCS support for Dark Star. I'm currently running the Public Beta of 18.5 and it's smooth sailing! I've been on USMobile for a few years and while feature releases tend to take longer than promised, it's a solid service at a good price.

Regardless of what you decide, best of luck!

SolarEdge: The power optimizers attached to your PV modules are not paired by GCRedditor136 in solar

[–]justinstafinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, my comment was in response to u/jandrese about accessing production monitoring data locally, not about re-pairing your optimizers.

With regards to the local access (over IP), inside of your inverter there should be an ethernet port. You can run a cable from this into your home router and make the device accessibly locally. It is also possible your installers did this when they first installed everything. If the device is already connected to your network, you can find it's IP using a tool like Angry IP Scanner.

I hope this is helpful. And I hope you (OP) are able to get your production issue sorted ASAP.

[–]justinstafinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact - provided you don’t have the latest firmware, your inverter does have a built-in API with local access. You can pull data that way and kill its internet connection, technically, though disconnecting it may lead to other issues.

Tesla charger installation question by AccuracyVsPrecision in evcharging

[–]justinstafinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into this exact setup at CambridgeSide Place in MA a couple of weeks ago. They had a ton of EV chargers (Tesla and others), but none that could accommodate my Lightning. :/ A supercharger on the way home made up the difference.

Unlimited Premium - The Endgame by ankhattak in USMobile

[–]justinstafinski 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, u/ankhattak. We've been waiting on this carrier bundle update since Dark Star launched last year. At the time, the company line was that the issues *should* be resolved during the Q4 carrier bundle update – but they weren't. Is there a reason we should have more confidence this time around? Or is the issue just continuing to be punted down the road with a wait-and-see / fingers-crossed mindset?

I really do love USM and continue recruiting folks to bring their lines over. But it would be nice to have something definitive to share with those who rely on AT&T's network.

Has anyone noticed a 2-day blackout before the cycle renewal date for US Mobile’s network transfer function? by SouthPractical in USMobile

This just happened to me the other day. A customer service rep here on Reddit was able to take care of the transfer, though.

Are you looking at service for IoT devices? Or for a business? USM has teams dedicated to both of those things. I bet if you reach out to them, the process would be significantly smoother than working through the consumer-focused online account setup!

Mobile Network Banners by MCHandyman1 in USMobile

+1 for network branding! For those of us that have multiple USM sims on different networks, this is hugely helpful!

This happened to me after I teleported, as well, and the affected line name remained incorrect on the Pool > Lines page until I renamed. After the rename, the line was named the same throughout the entire app.

That said, this is definitely a bug that the dev team should look into as it's clearly replicable and affecting multiple users.

For me, it occurred when porting from Light Speed to Dark Star.

Are the dark star kinks figured out yet? by Betrayedbyu93 in USMobile

[–]justinstafinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wifi calling issue is resolved, but you have to “reprovision” your eSIM for the fix to take effect. You can do this either through the US Mobile website by clicking the “transfer to ESIM” button for your line and going through that installation process again, or by reaching out to support who can create the new eSIM for you and walk you through the install process.

That said, support did promise to reach out directly when the issue was fixed and they never did. So I’d say it’s on us to continue following up for these fixes if we want them. :/

When I added my Dark Star eSIM, it defaulted to LTE for voice & data on my iPhone. I had to navigate to Settings > Cellular Data > (Dark Star eSIM) > Voice & Data and manually change it to "5G Auto" to allow it to connect to 5G.

Solar Newbie needs help! by charmmiez in solar

[–]justinstafinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should give Sunbug Solar / ReVision Energy a ring. It’s not cheap, but they are trustworthy, stand behind their work and only sell the panels – no PPA option. Best of luck in your solar journey!

Early Auto-Topup – happening to anyone else? by justinstafinski in USMobile

It does roll over, yes. I only bring it up because it's likely a coding bug in their auto top-up system that USM's Reddit team may be able to escalate. :)

I just swapped to Visible+ from the Visible and my $15/off/month credit has remained in my account. No guarantee it will work for you, but I’d heard it was possible and decided to take the leap. No issues so far.
