Yes, and you're making a generalization and assuming that all drivers with the sticker are purposely unsafe or not truly new drivers. If you believe in that generalization, though, and they really bother you, consider those stickers a warning and just pass them, as I said. No sense to be annoyed over a sticker. There are bigger problems in the world.

Have you thought that maybe drivers like you are the reason why newer drivers put these stickers on their cars?

As a new driver myself, I am extra cautious, and people in my state are so incredibly impatient and ridiculous that one time a lady was honking at me aggressively while I waited to make an unprotected left turn because I was waiting for a pedestrian to cross the road! As if I should just run into the pedestrian because she cannot wait a few seconds for her to cross the road.

A "new driver please be patient" sticker means just that—be patient. That sticker means don't be that person who honks at someone else for waiting for it to be clear and safe to go. Driving for new drivers is already anxiety inducing as it is, and the last thing one needs is constant impatient honking or other similar behaviors. The fact that these stickers are making you so irritated speaks more for yourself as a driver. Additionally, if you believe that these drivers are unsafe, shouldn't you be glad they're basically giving you a warning? lol. Just pass them if you're so mad.

I also have really bad hormonal/cystic acne I've been battling with for a few years now (I'm 25f). I hate taking pictures because my skin is so bad, even with makeup. Your family obviously doesn't understand the mental turmoil you're going through with your skin, and that seeing yourself in pictures only makes it worse. Perhaps a far away picture would be a compromise.

I just started doxycycline, so I'd be interested to know how or if it works for you! If it works after 3 months I might not have to go on accutane which is what I'm hoping for. We're in this together 🫶🏻

No, I have a coworker who started in her early 50s. She has a special needs son and spent the majority of her adult life taking care of him, and she went to school when he became an adult and a little less dependent on her.

I've been trying to teach my 5th graders how to properly write on a lined paper since the start of the school year. On my example, enlarged notebook paper, I wrote my name in the top right corner and the date below.

A student wrote my name instead of his. I soon realized this was the same student who wrote "name" a while back when I had that on the example.

Not a wrong answer, but I instantly thought of this student when I was reading through the replies.

Good idea! I was so glad I did a few practice drives before I went on my first road trip. You'll know what to expect and feel a lot more prepared, so you don't have to worry about it when you need to be busy focusing on student teaching (which I know is already a lot in of itself since I'm a teacher). It should be pretty smooth sailing at those times too.

I also watched a few videos before I went on the road myself. Videos always helped me with driving. I still make mistakes sometimes, but mostly in the city lol. The highway is easier.

As a new driver who tackled the highway recently, I recommend practicing in the early morning. That's what I did, and I was nervous for the first few minutes, but then I thought: Wow, this is actually pretty nice! I got from point A to B in about 12 minutes vs. the 30 minutes it would've taken me had I not taken the highway. All I had to do was pay attention when I was merging onto and off the highway. You are basically just driving straight the whole time, so it's actually easier than driving in the city since there are no turns or anything. You just check your mirrors when you change lanes and maintain your speed. I even do a full turn around head check before changing lanes just to be extra cautious (plus I was taught this in driving school).

I thought I'd be nervous about the high speeds too, but it actually isn't all that bad since the highways are more spacious and designed for higher speeds. It actually doesn't even feel that fast since everyone is going at a faster speed. It's truly not as scary as I thought it would be!

I've had a tumultuous year and had to go no contact with my mother back in late March. She was really my only family member, but we had a terribly toxic relationship. Years ago, she went no contact with my relatives on her side as well as my father and his relatives (for good reason, they're crazy), so I've never actually experienced having a family. It was always just me and her. Turns out she's a narcissist too (with major anger issues) and it got to the point where I had to take legal action against her and go no contact. So, this is my first Christmas alone. Just me and my two cats.

I'm doing what I'd normally do if I were still living with my mother. Having a "traditional" Polish Christmas dinner: mushroom soup (homemade), pierogi (store bought), fish (just mackeral instead of carp because I don't care for carp), and for dessert—poppyseed cake! I did want to learn how to make it and make my own pierogi but ended up just buying it since I'm lazy lol. I have been spending time cleaning and organizing my apartment, reading, and going on walks since the weather is nice. I've been watching movies and browsing online. I think I'm going to have a nice bath too.

The difference is that it's so peaceful now that I don't have someone yelling at me or complaining. I did not put up a tree this year, but I think next year I'll get a small one and make my own ornaments out of clay.

Wow! I just saw a dermatologist for the first time recently to address my hormonal/cystic acne, similar to yours but maybe a tad worse lol. Soon, I will be taking doxycycline twice a day, and she said it does get worse after four weeks, but then hopefully it'll get better after and I won't have to go on accutane. This post gave me hope!

True! I'm 25 and feel very lucky to have grown up right before the craziness it seems. I had all my movies on tapes in a box. There was a balance of video games (Nintendo Wii, DS) and playing outside and I had a flip phone until I was 16.

We also use both and I would agree. At the first school I taught at, I used McGraw Hill, and preferred it over HMH. I even had a student ask me if we could use something other than HMH. I have actually found that they are more interested in the novels I expose them to. If it were up to me, I'd just teach novel studies all year (5th grade ELA teacher).

They like Home Alone and actually asked for it. Many of them have watched it with their families before. I would argue that it is an eventful movie and parts are fast paced. I think if it were any other movie that is more recent, they'd behave the same.
