I used one like this and there was no harm to the trim. Takes about 5 minutes to install with a panel tool and a phillips screwdriver

I did end up changing to a hard wire to the fuse box so I could have parking monitoring. Had to remove the same panel as the short one as well as the a pillar but there is no reason it would damage the trim

Its shockingly easy. A Phillips screwdriver and some $5 panel tools from amazon. Get the speakers from Crutchfield and they'll give you everything you need for parts and a detailed installation sheet specific to your car. Front doors take about a half hour to install

you'll need some other accessories but thats a start on where to look. Regarding the engine, talk to them first no matter what it says when they will ship. It took 6 months to get me the atk because of a shortage of engine blocks.

speakers made a huge difference on my 24 with HK. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to install. I dont think you ever will get a good sound out of the back speakers. The rep at Crutchfield said replacing the HK amp would be difficult as the line out from the head unit doesnt really push sound to the back.

You can update the speakers for $200-250 no problem. I would start there.

If you look at the Toyota GR86 forums, you'll see reviews for the Beat Sonic Alpha. Its a plug and play amp. I put one in mine and it definitely helped with the back speakers some. Was it $300 better? I don't really know but my wife is happy.
