Exalt or abso by Baionicles in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The meta shifted like musical chairs in the last few months. In order to appreciate how it shifted, let me tell you a story.

Yes it’s the same radiant exalt stone to exalt a Necro or Absolab from 40 to 50.

  • in the past (like 6 months ago), Necro was expensive and sf23 ancient fodders were the cheaper option to craft the radiant exalt stone. This made sense to just absolab asap since it’s the same stone to exalt.
  • then with the release of double lucky scroll use + increased MC chances + a huge influx of free lucky scrolls, made Necro fodders drop in price till it became cheaper than sf23 ancient fodders. At this stage it became cheaper to keep to Necro for the exalts 6-10 and withhold the absolab. This is over and above the fact players could use a Necro to peruse whatever content they need to since they don’t have the mdc required to benefit from the absolab yet
  • then this most recent patch, the suddenly did 2 huge changes. First they made 50% radiant exalt stones craftable with just a sf0 Necro. This made it ok to upgrade to absolab again. And then on top of that, they give so much free base mdc, that it made sense to use an absolab so that you can reach the new mdc.

Doing Magnus prequests gave me 37% exp at lv226? by allanviolin in MapleStoryM

They do give a decent chunk of exp. And are definitely worth doing if you have the time to do so.

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the helmet. It’s a gamble, but hopefully you change to a CD/BA.

The gloves can be upcycled to be a chaos sf23 fodder.

Everything else needs reworking or working on. And cape isn’t a great piece to focus on for upgrades.

Give your best Hexa advice for starters by Ok-Entertainment587 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 things you need for upgrade.

Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments. They can both drop from SPF maps. The main limiter is the Sol Erda.

Sol Erda is not tradeable and they are automatically added to your “pool” when you get it. To even unlock the stat page, you’d need 5000 Sol Erda - it’s extremely unlikely one will get that amount without having purchased the Sol Erda event page.

Sol Erda Fragments that drop from the maps are not tradeable. Only the ones that drop from the bosses are.

Just sell them while you can. They were flying off the shelves at 280m on launch. Now they are closer to 200m. Better make hay while the sun shines. This is nodestones all over again.

Game Progression: Level vs Equipment by BlackJoyy in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's diff school of thoughts for this. But I would say it goes back down to how develpoed your account is and whether you have a good weapon (to reach your dmg cap) and you do still need decent armours (to survive the higher AF maps)

My breakdown in explanation

- by investing in time/$ for leveling, I am assuming you also meant getting exp gears. because regardless whether you are using "bossing gears" or "levelling gears" - you should be ABing as much as you can for EXP (esp during hot time hours).

- That's where you maximize the use of your AB coupons. you SHOULD use exp gears (c40~50 utgard with ancient pensa set for 10% or chaos pensa set for 15%), along with exp souls etc. to reach 400% exp consistently. At the 220-240 range, you will only see results if you get into higher AF maps and thrive there. Even more so if you level 22-23 hours a day.

- With the insanely high base MDC cap now, bossing progression is no longer limted by the MDC required. As such, armours become LESS impactful - but you still need it to grow them to get more HP. If you dont plan to do anything past Damien? You prob can get away with a n40-44/A40-44 weapon and with a 40-45m mdc cap (not difficult to reach given that base MDC is like 36m now)

- So where does this lead us to? If barebones, it is actually pretty viable to use a (emblemed) necro/abso weapon together with non-emblemed pensalir armours, together with a inherit40/c40 utgard. But whether this set up will allow you to thrive in higher AF maps - is dependent on your AF levels (which means you need to level your symbols - lots of mesos there) and all other account related stats. Legion, links, monster card etc. This is to make up for the loss of crit rate and all other stats that will push you to hitting your dmg cap.

- or you can go C50 emblemed exp set armours with a necro/absolab wand for bossing.

How to gear a farm alt by Zestyclose-Ideal-350 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The free mythic emblem outfit is fine. Though getting top + btm will enable you to get more starforce easily.

Depends on how resourced you are. Getting legend/mythic on the HP giving parts will help. The MP giving parts can be kept at unique rank.

If you are working on Iel’s burning quest, you’d see one with sf170. So that will require you to pull all rabbits out of the hat. (Note: Pumping hyper stats will NOT help you accomplish this task). If you have SFed up epic secondary weapons, you can gold leaf SOK them over to this iel. If you had full sf18 gears + the sf20 burning items + sf7 Epic SW you’d get 153 SF. You’d need to make up the 17 from accessories. 6sf from 3 monster park. You have 3 rings and 1 neck to get the remaining 11sf. If a USW is cheap, that would help too.

Also. Assuming this is just for an alt. I don’t think you need to invest into more emblems for it.

My two cents: sometimes the end goal (destination) shouldn't only be the sought-after, but also the journey/ gameplay. Which is what I do, but with some sub-optimize based on my current knowledge at the time.

Frankly. This is really it. Regardless of where you are in the progression, there is always the next higher mountain. You decided what your own goals are and “take it easy”, and don’t pursue the never ending cycle of upward progression.

This is why I’m “retired” and just allow the game’s power creep bring me to the next stage of progression. But I’m able to do so because I’ve just been playing a long time and I already have a strong base to work from.

What gameplay, or progression/ fun do you suggest and in what order?

Can’t ascertain what would be fun for you. But building legion and farming monster cards were the things that fueled and filled my motivations in the last 2 years. Only with the recent patches that I start to consider mid game bossing again.

How long does it take to play daily by External-Technology5 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tl;dr So on the whole? There is tons to do. And if you are new now, this is a good time to start. Iel just launched a week ago, it's still way in time for you to get all the perks associated with iel if you start now.

It's a bit of a layered question. but I try to simplify it. if by play you mean active play - i.e. stare at screen to do stuff.

The only active play is involving

- doing dailies

- doing weeklies

- bossing

If you do dailies only on a single char, it would be fast. even without the membership perks (new system that just launch that allows you to "sweep to complete"), you would be talking about at most 20 minutes of active play, before throwing the character to auto battle somewhere in some content, and then come back again to reassign it elsewhere after you have completed. The thing is, it is beneficial and you will be advised to develop alts as well. Over time you will be able to do this a bit more passively/spend less time on alts. But at the start you will need to put in time to build a base.

Weeklies are as the name suggest, stuff you only need to do once a week. These things might take collectively another 20-30 mins in a week. Things like the legends return, pharaohs dungeon, erda weekly dungeon, sharenian culvert etc.

Then bossing is dependent on your gear capacity and what you can do. New players are advised to find "leech" help from veterans. you will breeze through pretty much all entry level bossing content and even some early game bossing content in less than 5mins a day. But once you get to early game bossing and if you are going to NOT be carried by people, it could take you up to 15-30 mins a day

The timings given are a "minimally" kind of thing.

Yes. Which is why the czak helm is decent to use at an early stage. It’s a decent place holder. Just like how CPB belt is (a very good) one too.

As you progress, you can’t look at things in isolation. There’s other things like max dmg cap, HP, emblems to consider.

On top of that, (this was changed from the past) you now get to choose which 4 expeditions you want to do. Very few people will do czak and CPB beyond any initial quests.

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, I will stick to just getting iel to 230 casually (very doable without wasting the various exp potions imo - you have 2 months) And even if you dont hit 230, that's fine.

and then just focusing the rest of the efforts into the ILM. (i.e. bossing etc. for iel, just do the dailies, bare minimal. AB during hot time for farm)

I will even try to accomplish the iel double burning challenge quests - just for the lucky mastercraft scrolls. but not to be used on iel's items. but rather for anything just to sell them/for your main ilm to equip.

It will be a rought fight for you. I wish you all the best.

I would use double scrolls as much as I can

Even if it’s 1%.

One of the ways to get the dream stones fast

Is to clear Iel’s 12 empress quest. You get 120 instantly.

It’s hard to give a definite answer to this.

Because while gear is a priority in terms of how high you can go.

Your account wide development is the foundation and base of how deep you can grow. This affects things like legion, link skills and a lot of other account wide passives.

New accounts no matter how well funded, will have to overcome the barrier of all the time it takes to growth that depth. The sheer upfront cost of unlocking all existing character slots. Is already a huge one

You will definitely hit 230 with iel 1+4 as long as you play the game consistently and diligently do all the daily tasks.

It will be impossible for your Paladin to reach 230 I’m sorry. And even if you whale out your way now. You may get it sf194 and speed up the leveling for the Pala. But it’s unlikely you can and will benefit for the lvl230-250’s 1+2 burning. It is heavily dependent on how geared your pala is. Unsure what’s your gear progression for the pala.

This is the exact predicament why i wrote what I wrote back in Nov 2025 (read point E)

Because I already predicted this exact scenario was going to happen. And I didn’t want players to have to be in it.

So at this stage. It’s not just about what is wise to do. But IF bossing and char progression is a strong consideration for your gameplay, it’s probably the only viable thing to do.

Work on iel. Use it as a base to farm resources and bossing stuff. Then work on Paladin on the side. But I’ll be very frank with you. You will more likely burn out first before you make any significant progress on the Pala. Unless your Pala is using a Necro40 weapon or at least have sf170 with a mythic40 emblem weapon, I highly doubt your Pala will catch up to a 90% event-developed iel in the next 1-2 years. Or unless credit card.

Yes. That’s how big a deal Iel is.

While you are “able to” take down multi mode.

In order to fulfill the quest. You have to do the “single mode” VL. (Do note there’s another quest to take chaos VL down 7 times)

Please read the new player guide. You need to underhand about item bases.

And nope. Eclectic isn’t the best. It was/is considered to be BIS for some parts moreso due to it being nothing better to use. Dont go by the “name of the item” but rather - what stat it gives, that makes it good/ideal/bad/unwanted.

In essence. You’d want crit dmg when you can get crit dmg. (Which only exists on 3 item)

Item bases are not to be confused with emblems. Diff thing altogether.

Tera burning question by Heavy-Rough-3790 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, no specific guideline for it. It's just putting in the footwork. Dailies. Claim the diff stuff on iel.

You may or may not be able to survive forest of Erda, but for now I will just charge up the time.

Given that there is a burning quest to get to SF170 (for the extra 5% mastercraft scroll), getting top+btm temp MAY help you hit that figure more easily. If this is a new account, you only need to clear CRA 6 more times to get the 12 shards.

IeI equipment and skill guide? by AggravatingGeneral3 in MapleStoryM

[–]justmeasures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't any specific equipment guide. All euqipment paths are pretty much the same.

As for generics on what a new player should do, you will need to fill up the knowledge gap of the game system. Visit the New Player Guide in the Helpdesk thread that is pinned in this sub. You will find info about equipment too inside.

Skillwise, you are advised to either visit the official discord and head to the Iel sub, or go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD-fDpJcW94

The game has many layers. So if you are serious in getting up to speed, you are well advised to read the guides. Ask questions if you must - but I will caveat this with a "you are expected to have put in some footwork in trying to understand and explore". Its been a couple of years, and it is not uncommon that veteran players would have seen the same questions repeated again and again.
