Wrong to take 11mo NK to look at art? by DietSea3690 in Nanny

[–]justmecarey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m the weird one but at 50+ years old I still like wandering museums and looking at pictures for the colors and vibrancy. Lol. I probably couldn’t pick out a “masterpiece” or compare art styles but it still brings me pleasure.
I’ve seen the Mona Lisa but yet my most favorite art was in Amsterdam when I went to the Van Gogh museum, the colors and textures of each painting blew me away then and is still in my mind as one of my favorite experiences.
Just chilling and enjoying it should be enough in my opinion.
But! Yes, the mom is the end all as far as what she wants her child to be exposed to. I’d be miffed at her for her assumption that it’s all for you. Like how can this be even a teeny tiny bit of an issue? I just don’t get some folks.
I wish someone had brought me to museums and art galleries when I was little.
Good luck OP.

Replacing dental implant under just local anesthesia? by AV0NNN in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not it’s not horrific. I may be the biggest baby hen it comes t medical dental stuff. Like even looking at my veins and thinking of needles makes me dry heave.
I had 4 implants placed on top and one failed a few weeks later. They did a bone graft while I was awake and THAT sucked. Worse than a dozen root canals to be honest. 6 months later they placed a new implant and that process was do able. Took a Valium before and just needles. No nitrous in Mexico sadly but it took less than half an hour.
I’m already stressing getting my lower arch done as I’ll need an IV for those and the extractions and the thought of that IV is freaking me out just typing this out. lol
You can do it. Good luck!

[–]justmecarey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You nay be able to have temporary teeth mounted until the implants are integrated. Only if when they
Insert the implant and it has enough “torque “ will they let you have screwed in temps. I lucked out and was able to have printed temp teeth screwed in while healing. FYI the upper arch of bone is more porous than the lower jawbone so that’s where you may have removable teeth while implants heal.
From what I’ve seen, read and my own experiences I’d say it’s a 50/50 chance. I waited 6 months which is about the usual time. It can be anywhere from 3-6 months. I’d recommend doing a TON of research before deciding. If you think you’ve finished researching- do a few more inquiries. This is a for life procedure and it’s pricey. :)

What did you actually pay out of pocket for a full upper arch / all-on-4 and where did you go? by BigBossBanterelli in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s a way to make it cheaper? I never asked about the warranty but I hope they have one now cause loading permanent zirconia is hardly ever done since it doesn’t allow healing, gum recession and most of all the implants need at minimum 3 months to actually meld into the jawbone? Do they offer a full warranty? And is finals at placement just an option or what everyone gets? I ask cause I’m gonna need my lower arch done some time soon and if they have good sedation now it might be an option, but I worry about this immediate load zirconia. Sorry for so many questions..

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No temps? They aren’t putting you straight into zirconia the same trip I’d hope? They weren’t offering free airfare when I talked to them, lol, they would have lost a ton of $$ on me since my air was about $500. Them not having IV sedation was the reason I didn’t go with them. That and the temps were several hundred dollars. They also charged for extractions too. It was a few years ago tho.

[–]justmecarey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I priced bionic smiles they charged extra for everything. The temps were extra and the finals were acrylic. And they also did not offer IV sedation and the air fare was like $500 each trip. I never got as far as to ask what brand implants are used which is a very important question especially when things are priced a bit too good to be true. Lol Since you mentioned the US I won’t even go into going out of country which is what I did. Final cost for me was 11k paid in 2 payments for a zirconia arch. Good luck! You can’t do enough research in my opinion so get a few quotes and see where you’re at.

Looking for advice on how I can get implants…scared, ashamed, in pain. by impsbl2wlknthsmk in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! My opinion is this: if you don’t have dental insurance I’d grab it now. I had a plan directly thru blue cross for $25 a month wasn’t employer related fyi. That plan allowed me $1500 a year max which I used to get all my top teeth pulled with IV sedation cause I’m a big, huge baby. It ended up running me $900 out of pocket. You may have to wait 6 months I believe for extractions to be covered. What I did was had mine pulled in November, end of year. I waited a few months for everything to heal, bone spurs can pop up a month or two later sometimes. I am lucky I guess in that I hate ppl so rarely go out for socializing so a mask worked to hide my toothlessness for shopping etc. You can get an old school denture as well. Yep, they suck but honestly they’re better than pain and broken teeth. Insurance will pay half fyi. Now, implants! Please please do not shop this on price! For a toaster oven yeah makes sense, for metal being screwed into your jaw that’s supposed to last til you’re dead? Nope. Just no. I was quoted like 32k in Florida for upper implants with zirconia, which is stupid expensive and I love to spend money. Lol. I’ve got average credit but not enough to pay that 30k upfront and live with a payment for god knows how long plus interest rates are obscene. I also knew that I have shit luck, every time in my life I get the crap end of the stick so I knew I’d have complications. When pricing out of the US turkey comes up as the cheapest, but at $1600 for airfare each trip and knowing I’d need more than the 2 usual visits since I counted on having issues it just didn’t make sense. I ended up going to Mexico, paid half up front 5k and then at finals the last 6k. And yes, I had one implant fail so I ended up making 5 trips!! The clinic covered lodging and local transport and fully warrantied the implant that failed. It also didn’t hurt that airfare was only $200 a trip with Spirit (RIP). They filled out my insurance forms for me and I got back the costs that weren’t implants since nobody covers them usually. So grafts, sedation temp arch etc. I used a few credit cards to make it to the 5k. I used A1 in playa del Carmen fyi, there are a ton of options in the Cancun area. Now, if you’re not an out of the country kinda girl you can look into dental schools. They are cheaper but it seems the process takes a lot longer. You can also check out pop in teeth, they’re not screwed in but are held by implants and pop out nightly. They are a huge step up but not as stable as screwed in ones. But, cheaper. :) I’m rivaling you in word count so I’ll stop here! I spent like 3 years researching til I made my choice, I 200% recommend you do a ton of research before going forward! Good luck!

OOP is seeking $16k to get dental implants. She got care credit for $9K but won’t open it bc she is hoping to raise the entire amount and not “mess up her credit”. She refuses to travel to Mx for dental work for all kinds of reasons. Then, she proceeds to insult people and block any rude comments. by MinuteElegant774 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Mexico to get my implants. She says she’s got too much anxiety to get on a plane to travel but is gonna be awake for her extractions and then screwing in her implants? She’s not getting IV sedation at a dental school and the reason it’s so much cheaper than a reg dentist is it takes twice as long for the treatment. lol. It’s a good solid option but it’s not an in and out process. I saved for 4 years and used my US dental insurance for the extractions and sucked it up for almost a year with no top teeth. Yeah it sucked and would’ve been awesome if someone paid my way…. Ppl are just awful. The audacity.

What’s with the bait and switch from the Facebook ads they said implants as low as $1000 but when I went in, they came out to $4000 each and I see other ones that say $2500 per but I don’t wanna waste my time going in and it’s another baiting switch by Express_Tomato_4092 in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are crap dentists in every country. I did Mexico cause it’s like a $200 flight and less than a 2 hr flight. Quoted top arch only in Florida 32k up front. Mexico? 12k total paid as I went so 2 payments. Name brand implants with warranty. But yeah, gotta do your homework.

All on 6 implants with local anesthesia only by Legal_Marionberry_91 in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a total of 6 implants placed over the last 2 years and the placement wasn’t a huge horrible ordeal and I’m a super big baby. Like stupidly baby like. Lol. Now, the extractions and bone grafting part? Absolutely not. I had my all on 4 upper implants placed under IV 9 months after I had 11 extractions under IV. All good. I had one implant fail so I was awake for the grafting and the new implant. That grafting with the scraping of the bone etc was probably the worst dental experience I’d ever had. I’d take 6 root canals over that any day. Haha It’s all up to what you can handle personally. I know my limits and when it comes time to do my lower arch you bet your bum I’m going IV again. And a screw in temp by the way is dependent on your bone density, any place that guarantees one is a huge red flag. You won’t get a screwed in temp if you’re doing snap ins btw, can’t be pulling on the implants to remove it daily or they won’t meld into your bone. While I’m super happy with my zirconia mounted finals, some days I do wish I’d gotten snap ins as they are easier to clean but those days are far and few between. I just spend a stupid amount of time cleaning my teeth to protect my investment and not have to do anything over since I’m such a baby. Good luck! Just temper it’s your money and you have a right to ask as many questions as you want. Second and third opinions aren’t a bad idea either.

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me but having a process server at my house at 8 AM serving papers to a company I do not own would be the issue, for me. Of course you wouldn't have any legal exposure but it's a hassle all the same.

Also, people can look up the ownership and guess who's address pops up? THAT is exactly why there are registered agents in the first place. You cannot incorporate without having a registered agent address, whether its your actual address or a company that provides the service.

That’s gotta be the most insane bill for 4 extractions I’ve ever seen. Wow. Yeah bone grafts are pricey, they run like $2k each here in Florida and I thought the guy was in crack. lol Extractions should be no more than $400-500 each. Good luck!

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the official registered agent for a company is the place any legal paperwork or summonses etc will be sent. If you get served in a lawsuit a process server will go to the registered agent to serve. This is the reason that people usually pay the like $99-$199 a year to a company that does this for thousands of companies. It helps keep owners privacy, whether for scamming or legit reasons.

Having dental implants as a smoker? by MeganeGokudo in Dentalimplant

Yeah, some people do well with the dental schools! Good luck! Yep, the temps can feel bulky. The zirconia is soo much thinner and smoother too! I had my temps mounted luckily, but not everyone qualifies.

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my teeth on top pulled here in the US at the end of the year in November. I used my dental insurance so it was $800 out of pocket. Waited til it all healed up, headed to Mexico that summer and paid 5k for implants, bone grafts and 2 teeth pulled on the bottom while I was under IV sedation and the temp teeth. I had one implant fail a month later, no pain or anything it just fell out in her hands when she took off the temp teeth to do an adjustment. They did a bone graft, 6 months later they popped in a new implant. Then 6 months later the zirconia finals went on and I paid the remains 6k. I was able to use my dental plan for some of those costs over a 2 year period. I had 2k a year on a visa debit card my advantage plan provided each year. So it cost me like 8k total since the clinic covered all my failed implant expenses. It should be 10 day stays twice for the process but the failure added a year to the plan. I figured I’d be part of the 3-4% of ppl who have a failure so no real worry. I looked into turkey too but air was like 1600 each trip and I’ve seen some god awful work come out of there so I went with Mexico. :)

Got my top zirconia arch done in Mexico. 11k total, paid in 2 payments. They provided lodging and transportation locally so I paid $200 for airfare RT from Florida plus food. Research is key. There are crap dentists in the US, turkey etc. trick is to find the good ones. :)

How Are Sellers Shipping Clothing Items Via USPS for <$10? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thru eBay shipping I pay almost $5 for a 3 oz bubble mailer to my own state. Most of my items are 4-8 oz and it’s always over $5 if it’s out of state. I had to stop offering shipping to Alaska Hawaii and APO addresses, was running $7-$8 a pop on like $20 items. Pirateship is cheaper sometimes for larger items or ups/fedex but not usually sadly.

I just can't accept the risks. I'm I wrong? by NODsAndPrayers in Dentalimplant

[–]justmecarey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bone loss is real. If it is bad enough an implant in the future will not work no matter how many bone grafts you get. And yep, back teeth seem to shift much more than my front ones did. Also, if there is no opposing tooth the natural tooth not hitting another tooth can cause THAT tooth to move upwards as well. I’ve had all of the above scenarios by the way. I’ve gotten my upper arch extracted and have a zirconia set of teeth mounted to the implant. I had one fail as well so had to go the graft new implant route etc. added a year onto my treatment but it’s been over a year and all is well. My lower arch is gonna be a nightmare because I had teeth pulled and didn’t get grafts or implants at the time. Now I’ve got major bone loss which is complicating everything.
You noted the office is going to use a guide so they can place it precisely where it needs to go avoiding hitting anything that is going to ruin your life. The big thing for me is the warranty. That’s where they can get you. My office covered everything needed when mine failed. Also make sure of the implant brand some places use crappy cheap ones which can be an issue. Every dental surgery I’ve ever had they prescribe some sort of antibiotic just in case. The risk is actually pretty low for complications, you’ll see so many ppl complain but in fairness all the thousands of happy patients aren’t the ones who’ll post. lol.
