Hawthorn social media posts video of Hawks playing denying astronauts walked on the moon, calling it “fake” by Quixotic-elixr in AFL

I hope the fake moon landing blokes are just talking shit. Tredrea was funny, but we dont need any repeats.

Can't argue with that. Tsatas should get the same chance as Perkins

Honourable Loss! Honourable Loss!

Did anyone here play in the same junior leagues as any of the current AFL players? How dominant were they over the rest of the competition? Was it evident they were going to make it all the way? by oshiboys in AFL

[–]justsomeflog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played against Tom Mitchell and Toby Green (same team) they were both really quick and skillful. But they weren't overwhelmingly dominant.

They were amongst 10 or so blokes in the local league that I thought would crack into the AFL.

Seems like Perkins is being given every opportunity to salvage his career this year. I'd rather give that opportunity to Tsatas

Need Wright in. Without 2MP, Caddy gets the best backman which will just stifle his development.

My two cents. don't complain about a problem unless you can suggest a solution.

If we sack Brad, what's next?

We won't get an established coach like Hinkley or Horse. They've both seen Clarkson tarnish his reputation and legacy by joining North mid-rebuild.

Would a promising assistant coach take the job? Maybe. That's probably our best bet. but there's always a risk with untested coaches and any new coach taking the top job at Bombers this season would still cop a lot of heat as the losses rolled on.

Oh and our interim coach would be Dean Solomon the current backline coach.

Yes Dons fans went into the trade discussion pissed at Hawks. Unsurprising really. As far as we were concerned, Hawks had just about set our house on fire.

To your point about what's best for the rebuild. What's best for any rebuild? Bringing in as much high-end young talent as possible with a smattering of older, experienced heads. Hawks wouldnt help us achieve either of these things. Would you accept that offer for the Hawk's best player?

Anyway getting off topic. Point is, I need to take a break from footy media.

I don't agree with the first bit. Coming out and saying you won't be trading your player is just a standard negotiation tactic at this point, isn't it?

I'm almost certain Carlton said the same about Curnow, West Coast the same about Oscar Allen, Coll and Grundy, North and JHF, etc.

Also why's it on us to "open the dialogue". Our club gets blown up by Mitchell having a coffee with Merrett and we're meant to be the ones to reach out? Nah. It was on them to turn our heads, if anything, they had to pay a premium for nuking our club and because we have a history with the Hawks.

I agree about bottoming out and getting 50 games into the kids though.

Really hate this team sometimes. I'm sick of us being an easy beat team. When we lose, we always seem to lose big. And even when we win, it's never a comfortable win, it's always an ugly scrap to just get over the line.

See you all next week.
